Purpose
This document outlines the procedures for proper storage of Furrion refrigerators.
Proper Storage Information
Properly storing the refrigerator can prevent irregular cooling performance and help combat component
damage. If the refrigerator is not properly turned off (stored) it continues to operate while in storage,
causing the appliance to overwork in extreme conditions beyond its intended design. The refrigerator
control then detects an erroneous operating parameter/condition and locks out the systems to protect itself
until power is reset. To prevent system lock-out, perform the following proper storage steps.
Failure to follow proper storage procedures for the refrigerator could result in product damage and/or
voiding the warranty.

If the unit/appliance is in storage (closed up/not in use) the refrigerator model # WD-282FWDC-6 should
always be turned off using the controls of the refrigerator. The battery disconnect is NOT sufficient for
ensuring the refrigerator is off. Physically turning off the refrigerator is required per the below instructions.
1. Open the refrigerator door and locate the user control panel (Fig. 1A) at the top of the
refrigerator cavity.
2. Press and hold the "SET" button (Fig. 1B) for 10 seconds.

3. After 10 seconds, the "SET" button will begin blinking, and the LED above the previously-set
temperature (Fig. 2A) and the interior light (Fig. 2B) will turn off.

4. Keep the doors open for air circulation to keep the cavity dry.
NOTE: For extended storage, including winterization, the battery should also be removed and maintained properly.
NOTE: Install the storage lock (if provided) to the door propped open and locked for ventilation purposes.
Extended Storage and Winterization for Model WD-282FWDC-6
1. Follow steps1-4 in the "Proper Storage Procedures for Model WD282FWDC-6" section of this Quick
Reference Document.
2. Remove the battery from the coach.
NOTE: Maintain the battery for the duration of storage per the manufacturer's specifications.
3. Disconnect the solar panel(s) from the electrical system.
4. Disconnect shore power from the coach.
Bringing the Coach and Refrigerator Out of Storage
1. Reverse any steps taken to store the coach depending on the length of time stored. (Reconnect shore
power and solar panels if disconnected, reinstall and hook up coach battery, etc.)
2. Press and hold the "SET" button on the user control panel for 10 seconds. The blue LEDs above each
temperature setting will briefly illuminate and then shut off leaving only the LED that was illuminated
at time of storage (Fig. 1 and Fig. 3), while simultaneously illuminating the interior light (Fig. 3).

NOTE: If the refrigerator is not functioning correctly after coming out of proper storage — i.e. lights
do not come on or refrigerator is not cool after being on at least two hours — a Hard Reset may
be required. See "Troubleshooting" for hard reset instructions. The hard reset process involves
removing shore power, battery power and solar power.
Troubleshooting
Reset By Disconnecting Power (Hard Reset
If the refrigerator compressor is not operating, try servicing by disconnecting power. It is important to first
confirm the following:
+ Shore power, or any external 120V supply, is disconnected.
+ Disconnect all battery negative terminals and then remove all battery positive terminals.
+ If equipped, disconnect any solar systems to the unit (12V DC). Check for quick disconnects.
+ Cavity lights and display lights do not illuminate when opening/closing the refrigerator doors.
Reapply power to finish the reset process. Confirm the compressor is running and let it run for a 24-hour
period to ensure cavities are reaching temperature.

1. Remove the unit from shore power (120V AC).
2. Disconnect all battery negative terminals and then remove all battery positive terminals.
NOTE: Using a battery disconnect in place of disconnecting the battery's negative terminal is not sufficient
for disconnecting the battery because the refrigerator may be directly connected to the battery.
3. If equipped, disconnect any solar systems to the unit (12V DC).
4. Check for quick disconnects.
5. Make sure all lights are off inside the appliance.
6. Confirm power has been removed by opening and closing the door to make sure all lights are off.
7. If applicable, also confirm the control panel display is unresponsive.
8. Wait five to 10 minutes.
9. Restore power.
