Condition
This bulletin applies to MY20-24 e-tron, and Q8 e-tron vehicles only.
Customer states:
•

The red electrical system warning is shown in the instrument cluster with the message “Electrical
system: fault. Safely stop vehicle”.

•

Vehicle can no longer be started.

Workshop findings:
The customer statement can be reproduced.
The following DTC is stored in the hybrid battery management, J840 (address word 008C):
•

P0AC00: “Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Current Sensor “A” Circuit Range/Performance” symptom 14340
(static/passive).

None of the following DTC entries (neither static nor passive) are logged in the hybrid battery management,
J840 (address word 008C):
•

P0AA700: Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage Isolation sensor Circuit.

•

P0AA100: Hybrid Battery Positive Contact Circuit Stuck Closed.

•

P0AA200: Hybrid/EV Battery Positive Contactor Circuit Stuck Open.

•

P0AA400: Hybrid/EV Battery Negative Contact Circuit Stuck Closed.

•

P0AA500: Hybrid/EV Battery Negative Contact Circuit Stuck Open.

Production Solution
This bulletin will be updated when more information is available. A solution is currently under development.

Service
1. Explain to the customer that information on the availability of the planned solution is expected by the end
of the 4th quarter of 2024 (subject to change) and that no repairs are necessary at this point. Do not
replace any components for this condition since this will not resolve the customer’s concern.
2. Create a PSS record in the PSS application through the Pending Service Solutions (PSS) link in
AccessAudi (under Related Links >> Service).
If this TSB applies, please proceed as follows:
1. Activate bus sleep mode.
2. Lock the vehicle.
a. No electrical equipment must be active (contactors must be open).
b. Vehicle must no longer be connected to charger.
c.

Erase all DTC entries after the bus sleep cycle.

3. Then re-assess whether the issue still occurs.
If the complaint persists after the bus sleep cycle, please submit a TAC web ticket.
•

Please write this TSB number in the “customer comments”. This allows the internal department to
identify the connection to this TSB quickly.

•

TAC will contact you as soon as possible and provide further information.
