The front bumper cover and fascia do not provide obvious mounting points for the front license plate.

Technical Background 1
The design aesthetic of the new Audi e-tron GT/Audi RS e-tron GT makes the addition of a front license
plate carrier prohibitive. The front license plate is attached directly to the front bumper cover/grille assembly
without the use of a license plate carrier.

The front license plate can be attached using 2 self-tapping screws (N 909 747 01) at the top of the plate.
1. The dimensions for the correct placement of the
front license plate are specified in Elsa at Repair
Manual: Body >> Body Exterior >> 66 Exterior

Equipment >> Radiator Grille/Front Trim >>

License Plate, Mounting:

Dimension -a- in mm: 21.0.
Dimension -b- in mm: 89.0.
Dimension -c- in mm: 120.5.

2. To make the front license plate installation
position replicable without the need for new
measurements in each installation case fashion
a template using a manila folder or card stock
with these dimensions transferred to it. Set the
top edge with the top fold and mark the
centerline consistent with the Audi Rings motif
as specified in Elsa.

3. Use a hole-punch where the screws will be
attached, and a mark can be easily made each
time. The upper screw attachment will be
expedient and consistent.

4. Mark the location of the holes through the
template.

5. With the locations of the hole marked, drill two
3mm (1/8”) diameter holes no deeper than
15mm. Mark the 15mm (19/32”) depth on the
drill bit with a piece of tape.

6. Drill the holes to 15mm in depth.

7. Install the screws (N 909 747 01). Torque the
screws to 2.0 Nm.
