This service bulletin applies to certain model year 2024-2025 FC-94, 2024
Gladiator, and 2025 MetroStar model emergency response chassis cabs,
equipped with an IR-2 valve and ESC system built in July 2024.

CONDITION:

IR-2 valve may not be plumbed correctly.

CORRECTION:

Add fitting and correct plumbing.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Properly support chassis to gain access to work underneath.
2. Locate air tanks and drain all air from tanks.
3. Locate the IR-2 Valve on the chassis. The IR-2 valve should be located near the rear suspension on a
cross member. Trace the red airline from port 42 on the IR-2 valve to determine where the line goes.
If the red airline goes to the delivery side of the brake treadle valve, the vehicle is plumbed correctly,
and no other steps are necessary. Refer to Figure 2.1 for reference plumbing diagram. If the IR-2 Valve
is not plumbed to the treadle valve, please proceed to step 4.

4. On the treadle valve in Port 22 (Secondary delivery) there should be a tee with a plug installed.
Remove this plug and install a 45° Fitting with a 3/8 NPT and 3/8 hose port. Refer to Figure 3.1

5. Locate the front quick release valve. The quick release valve will be located on the front steering cross
member on front spring suspension and NXT suspension. The quick release valve will be located on
the suspension cradle on an IFS.
6. Remove the size 6 red air-line and fitting from the quick release valve. Install a plug in the open port
on the tee. Refer to Figure 4.1

4. A 3/8 red air-line needs to be installed from the treadle valve to the IR-2 valve port 42. This can be
completed by installing a union on the red line at the quick release valve and adding hose from the
union to the fitting at the treadle valve. Alternatively, a new length of hose can be routed from the
treadle valve to the IR-2 valve.

5. Fill air system and check for air leaks
