SERVICE PROCEDURE OVERVIEW
Vehicles included in this program may have one or more failed catalytic converters or a misfire/runs rough
condition due to a PCM wire harness chafe. If the catalytic converters have failed, Diagnostic Trouble
Codes (DTCs) P0420 or P0430 will be stored in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). If the vehicle is
exhibiting a misfire/runs rough condition, the root cause may be unrelated to a damaged wire harness.
Vehicles that exhibit a misfire/runs rough condition after a wire harness repair is made should be repaired
outside of the FSA using Workshop Manual diagnostics.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT! The Service Technician Specialty Training (STST) Competency 10 certification
requirement, for U.S. market only, will be enforced starting with repair orders
opened on or after April 1, 2024. Field Service Action (FSA) repairs will reject if
the repairing technician is not certified in STST Competency 10 FSA. See
Electronic Field Communication (EFC) 14251 for more details.
1. Check for DTCs. Was either DTC P0420 and/or P0430 present?
YES - Replace both the Left Hand (LH) and Right Hand (RH) catalytic converters. Follow the
Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures in Section 309-00C and clear any DTCs. Proceed to
Step 3.
NO - Proceed to Step 2.
2. Check the vehicle warranty history. Has 24M01 been previously performed on this vehicle?
YES - This FSA does not apply.
NO - Proceed to Step 3.

3. Inspect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) wiring harness at the A/C line for a protective wiring
sleeve. See Figures 1 and 2. Is a protective wiring sleeve present on the PCM wiring harness?
YES - This completes the FSA.
NO - Proceed to Step 4.

7. Inspect the PCM wiring harness at the A/C line for signs of damage. See Figure 6. Are signs of
damage present?
YES - Repair the wiring harness, then Proceed to Step 8.
NO - Proceed to Step 8.
NOTE: If there is evidence of excessive damage to the PCM wiring harness, contact the Special Service
Support Center (SSSC).

8. Install the protective wiring sleeve onto the PCM wire harness at the point of contact with the A/C line.

Mobile Service Repair Assessment
Assessment levels have been identified to help determine the ease of performing eligible mobile
service repairs for a Field Service Action (FSA) outside of the dealership service facility.
Dealer Bulletin
Within the Administrative Information Attachment of the dealer bulletin a mobile service repair
assessment level(s) will be provided. These assessment levels have been determined using the
amount of time, equipment and labor identified to perform the intended service action.
Assessment Levels
- Mobile Reprogramming
- Light Mobile Service
- Enhanced Mobile Service
- Advanced Mobile Service
- Wheel and Tire Mobile Service
- Not a Mobile Service Repair
Description of each level that is used to determine the overall assessment.
– Mobile Reprogramming
• Module Programming or similar type services
• Minimum tools maybe required other than an IDS/FDRS setup
• FDRS programming that requires internet connection (wi-fi or mobile hotspot)
• Make sure vehicle has a charge port to ensure battery voltage is maintained during
flashing of the module(s)
• Repairs not greater than 1 hour in length (including time to wait for programming)
Note: The location will need a charging station or wall box to maintain the 12-volt battery.
