Cause:
The customer complains about brake rubbing, varying pedal pressure point, soft pedal feel, brake disc
run-out or increased wear on the brake pads. This type of fault can occur as a result of race track use
and/or extreme driving situations.
Information
The grey cast iron standard brake pad installed at the factory can show problems with regard to wear,
pedal feel, brake rubbing and brake disc run-out when driving on race tracks in extreme driving situations.
This behaviour is not a functional defect in the brake system or brake components.
If this behavior occurs in a vehicle that is often used on race track use, we recommend that you use
optional race track brake pads that have been developed specifically for use on race circuits. These
brake pads are also referred to in the supplemental brochure, "Driving on the race track."
Action required: Replace brake pads on front and rear axle with race track brake pads and replace brake discs.

Due to their performance, the race track brake pads can cause noises (e.g. squealing). The brake pad
selection should therefore be adapted to the customer's main driving scenario.
Information
When exchanging the brake pads with the race track brake pads, it is essential to replace these
vehicle-wide. Do not only replace the front axle or the rear axle with race track brake pads.

Information
If the vehicle is mainly for race track use, the customer will find two equivalent variants available as
an alternative below.
The table below shows an overview of the respective acoustic and performance properties of each brake
pad.
Mixed brake pads installation between the front axle and rear axle is not permitted.
