 IMPORTANT
Retailers must perform this service campaign on all affected vehicles prior to retail delivery to a
guest and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
Access the “Vehicle Information” screen via WebDCS to identify open campaigns.
Description: Certain 2023-24MY GV60 (JW1) vehicles may exhibit a condition where the outside
mirrors do not correctly fold/unfold. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to update the LH/RH outside
mirror controllers.

Applicable Vehicles (Certain):
• 2023-24MY GV60 (JW1) vehicles produced from 05/12/2023 – 08/11/2023.

NOTICE
To avoid any potential damage to Genesis EVs, this service campaign can only be performed by
EV certified Genesis retailers.

NOTE 2: If a part is found in need of replacement while performing this service campaign and the
affected part is still under warranty, submit a separate claim using the same repair order. If the
affected part is out of warranty, submit a Prior Approval request for goodwill consideration prior to
performing the work.
NOTE 3: This TSB includes Repair validation photos. Op times include VIN, Mileage and Repair
validation photos as outlined in the Digital Documentation Policy.

CAUTION

Cautions During Control Unit Upgrade
• Confirm the vehicle's 12V aux. battery is fully charged. Please connect a battery charger
before proceeding to eliminate risk of software update failure due to insufficient battery
voltage.
• Turn off all lamps (Do not leave head lamp switch in auto mode) and all accessories
(heater, A/C, blower, radio, seat warmer, defroster, etc.); do not allow the battery to be
discharged during upgrade.
• Perform upgrade with the ignition switch in the ON position.
• Be careful not to disconnect any cables connected to the vehicle or scan tool during
upgrade.
• Do not turn off the ignition switch during upgrade.

1.

Turn the IG switch OFF to start procedure.

2.

Install the power cable (A) and data connector
(B) to the supplied LIN communication tool.

NOTICE
Follow the same update procedure for both
LH and RH outside mirror controllers.

3.

Disconnect the LH door connector (C) by
pulling up on the tab (D).

NOTICE
Remove the RH door connector when
updating the RH outside mirror controller
software.

Connect the data connector (E) of the LIN
communication tool to the door connector (F)
and push tab down to secure connection.

NOTICE
Connect the connector marked ‘L’ on the
data connector of the LIN communication
tool to the LH door connector.

When updating the RH outside mirror
controller software, attach the ‘R’ marked
connector to the RH door connector.

Attach the power cable of the LIN
communication tool to the 12V outlet.

6.

Turn the IG switch ON (Accessory mode) and
check the LIN communication tool powers ON.

7.

Press the ‘Upload start’ button (G) on the LIN
communication tool to update the LH outside
mirror controller software.

NOTICE
If message ‘Check Connector Try Again’
appears, check the cable connections,
and confirm the tab is pushed in, securing
the connection.
Then press ‘Upload Start’ button again to
retry.

Information

‘Update Completed’ (H) message is
displayed on the LIN communication tool
when the software update is completed.

Press ‘Upload start’ button again (G) to
check the final software version (Ver 2.10)

Using STUI, take a photo of the tool
displaying the final version while
being connected to the door
connector with the last 6 digits of the
VIN and the date of repair on a piece
of paper.
Upload the photo to STUI.

8.

After update, turn IGN switch OFF.
Remove the LIN communication tool and
install door connector onto the vehicle's
wiring.

9.

Repeat steps 3-8 to update RH outside mirror
controller.

10.

Using the GDS, complete an “All System Fault
Code Search” and clear DTCs that may have
resulted incidentally from the repair procedure.

11.

Check outside mirrors fold and unfold when
locking/unlocking the vehicle to complete the
service procedure.
