Confirm the existing lubricating oil pan part number is either part number 4980381 or
5566764 and that a cylinder block stiffener option is installed on the engine. Information in
this TSB applies to only these two part numbers for engines with a cylinder block stiffener
plate installed.
Description of Change
A new lubricating oil pan and lubricating oil pan gasket are available to reduce the risk of external
lubricating oil leaks. Installation procedures have been updated for the new parts. See the Service
Issue column in Table 1 and corresponding Service Manual. Reference Procedure 007-025 in
Section 7.
Reason for Change
The new lubricating oil pan and lubricating oil pan gaskets better distribute sealing pressure
across the lubricating oil pan gasket and reduce clamp load loss over time to reduce the risk of
external lubricating oil leaks.
