Repair Bulletin: This repair bulletin provides instructions on addressing a possible customer concern regarding the operation of
Tesla vehicles. These instructions should only be performed by trained professionals.

Condition
On some Cybertruck vehicles, the routing of the wiring harnesses inside the front overhead console might prevent the
console from fully attaching to the windshield sun visor track, causing the console to detach from the track when the
sun visors are operated.

Correction
Upon customer complaint, replace the front overhead console, windshield harness bracket, and sun visor track with
updated parts.

Procedure
1. Remove the headliner front header trim (refer to Service Manual procedure 1520068021).
2. Remove the front overhead console (refer to Service Manual procedure 1505103011).
3. Release the clips (x4) that attach the windshield harness to the vehicle (Figure 1).

4. Use a trim tool to release the tabs (x2) that attach the windshield harness bracket to the sun visor track (Figure 2),
and then let the harness and bracket hang below the sun visor track (Figure 3).

5. Lubricate the windshield glazing blade with glass cleaner, and then carefully use the blade to remove the sun
visor track from the windshield (Figures 4–6).
WARNING: Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cut-resistant gloves and safety
glasses.

6. Examine the windshield frit and removed sun visor track to understand the path and amount of primer and
urethane application for the replacement sun visor track.
7. Use an adhesive scraping razor and IPA wipes to remove all remaining residue from the windshield sun visor
track area (Figure 7). Let the IPA dry for at least 1 minute.
WARNING: Wear appropriate PPE such as cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses.
CAUTION: To ensure proper installation of components, all remaining urethane must be removed.

8. Position the Cybertruck PRND retrofit jig on the replacement sun visor track (Figure 8).

9. Test fit the sun visor track and Cybertruck PRND retrofit jig on the windshield, aligning the retrofit jig
(Figure 9, green) with the rear view mirror beauty cover. Afterwards, set the parts aside.

NOTE: Try to align the sun visor track so that there is an equal amount of windshield frit visible on both sides
of the track (Figures 10 and 11).

10. Apply 2x pieces of masking tape to the back of the sun visor track, covering the holes (x4) of the harness track
mounting tabs (Figure 12).
NOTE: This will prevent urethane from seeping into the harness track mounting tabs.

11. Apply primer to the mating surface of the replacement sun visor track (Figure 13, yellow), and let the primer dry for
2 minutes.
WARNING: Read and understand the primer’s instructions and warnings. If instructed, work in a
well-ventilated area and wear PPE such as safety glasses, protective gloves, and a respirator mask.

12. Apply primer on the windshield sun visor track area (Figure 14), and let the primer dry for 2 minutes.
WARNING: Read and understand the primer’s instructions and warnings. If instructed, work in a
well-ventilated area and wear PPE such as safety glasses, protective gloves, and a respirator mask.

13. Cut 7 mm off of the tip of the urethane applicator (Figure 15), and then load the urethane and applicator into the
caulking gun.
WARNING: Wear appropriate PPE such as protective gloves and safety glasses.

14. Apply urethane on the sun visor track (Figure 16, yellow).

15. Carefully remove the protective backing from the strips of double-sided tape (x4) on the sun visor track
(Figure 16).
16. Carefully position the Cybertruck PRND retrofit jig on the sun visor track (Figure 17).

18. Align the sun visor track so that there is an equal amount of windshield frit visible on both sides of the track
(Figures 19 and 20), and then press the sun visor track onto the windshield, making sure the strips of doublesided tape (x4) (Figure 16) all adhere to the windshield.
CAUTION: It is crucial that all four strips of double-sided tape adhere to the windshield, as the tape ensures
that the sun visor track is correctly positioned on the windshield.

19. Use IPA wipes and a plastic pick tool to remove excess urethane from the LH and RH sides of the sun visor track
(Figure 21).

20. Remove and discard the cable ties (x3) from the old harness bracket (Figures 3 and 22).

21. Release the tabs (x10) that attach the harness bracket base to the harness bracket cover (Figure 23), and then
remove the harness bracket base and cover from the windshield harness (Figure 24).

22. Position the windshield harness on the harness bracket base (Figures 25 and 26), and then install the harness
bracket cover on the harness bracket base (Figure 27) (10x tabs).
NOTE: Make sure the windshield harness is routed through the two harness channels at the top of the
harness bracket base (Figures 28 and 29).

23. Position the windshield harness bracket assembly on the windshield sun visor track, and then engage the
tabs (x2) that attach the harness bracket assembly to the sun visor track (Figure 30).
NOTE: Make sure the harnesses are routed inboard of the LH and RH sun visor track harness posts
(Figure 31), as the replacement overhead console will contact these posts.
TIP: If necessary, rotate the harnesses to aid in routing the coax cable.

24. Install the clips (x4) that attach the windshield harness to the vehicle (Figure 1).
25. Install the new front overhead console (refer to Service Manual procedure 1505103011).
NOTE: After the new front overhead console is installed, 1 hour must elapse before the sun visors can be
attached to the overhead console. If returning the vehicle to the customer before 1 hour has elapsed, inform the
customer as well.
26. Install the headliner front header trim (refer to Service Manual procedure 1520068021).
