To inform dealerships that Harley-Davidson has made updates to oil filters including new part numbers, packaging design, and
bulk case quantity changes.

1984 and later: Models powered by the Evolution, Twin Cam and Milwaukee-Eight engines

Summary
Brand presence is refreshed and updated giving both Black and Chrome Oil Filters a premium retail box aligned with the recent
oil packaging updates. The bulk oil filter packaging is improved to better protect the oil filters during shipping. Bulk oil filters now
come in a case quantity of 18 (was 12). Product packaging transition begins in July 2024 and will be ongoing through the end of
the year.
The new packaging makes the product easy to identify:
• Chrome filters are packaged in a gray box.
• Black filters are packaged in a black box.
• The part number is displayed on the front of the box.
• Engine specific fitment is on the front of the box when applicable.
See Figure 1 and Figure 2 for a sample package design.
The new oil filter packaging will be included in Oil Change Kits and Tune Up Kits as the old oil filter inventory transitions to the
new oil filter.
All part numbers will be automatically superseded old to new as product is available. New packaging (new part numbers) will not
be available until old inventory runs out. Oil Change Kits and Tune Up Kits will transition to include the new packaging as it
becomes available without a part number change to the kits.
As this product arrives at your dealership, recommendations are:
• Sell and use all old packaging first
• Re-stock new packaging in place of old
• Shift old packaging to service department operations.
FILE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
This will use up the old packaging as quickly as possible and create a more visually appealing presentation. New product packaging
will transition by product Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) with varied timing. This may result in a mix of old and new packaging on the
shelf during the transition. Try to maintain only one packaging style, per product SKU on the shelf.
Refer to Table 2 for the list of affected part numbers, see Figure 1 and Figure 2 for sample images of the new oil filters and boxes.

A slight cosmetic difference may be noted between the old and new oil filter. The new filter crimp diameter is slightly larger and
smoothed out when compared side by side with the current product.
