SITUATION
The washer fluid cleaning system has air remaining in its components, and/or the fluid lines after a previous
repair has been performed. The previous repair may have involved draining, opening, and replacing
components in the system.

CAUSE
Due to unfavorable BCP software, the autonomous cameras’ washer fluid cleaning system cannot be
purged of air sufficiently so that air can remain in the system.

CORRECTION
Program the vehicle to the latest I-level if needed using ISTA 4.48.1x (released late June, 2024) or higher.

PROCEDURE
Determine what is the vehicle’s current I-level by either using AIR, or the Key Reader/Aftersales Workplace
(AWP) application.
Perform a complete vehicle test with ISTA to confirm there are no related faults are stored.
If the I-level is between …23-07-500 thru …24-07-500.
Program the vehicle with ISTA 4.48.1x to I-level 24-07-500 or higher.
If the I-level is above 24-07-500 or after recently programming vehicle with ISTA 4.48.1x or higher
version, proceed to the next step.
For both above, also perform the service function “Sensor washer system start-up” which must be carried
out to ventilate the autonomous cameras’ washer fluid cleaning system properly.
The service function can be found in ISTA with following path Service functions / Body / Wash/wipe system /
Sensor washer system start-up.

CLAIM INFORMATION
Vehicle Programming and Encoding
During this workshop visit, the affected vehicle may also show one or more programming and encoding
Technical Campaign repairs open, the programming and encoding procedure may only be invoiced one
time.
Select one of these open Technical Campaigns to perform and submit for updating the vehicle to the
required I-level, or higher when applicable (Includes labor operation codes 00 00 006/556, 61 21 528

latest software I-level.
If one or more control modules fail during the reprogramming procedure, claim the required consequential
repair work procedures to address this issue (including performing the IRAP Control Unit Recovery first as
required, refer to the SIB in AIR) under the Repair Code in this bulletin together with the corresponding labor
operation codes and their flat rate unit (FRU) allowance(s), including the diagnosis* that applies.
Please explain the additional work procedures that were performed (The why and the what) on the repair
order and in the claim comments.

resource, start by entering the Chassis Number (last seven (7) characters of the VIN), and click on the
“Search” icon. If the “Vehicle Selection” window displays two or more model possible vehicle choices, select
the applicable Model, or enter the full VIN (17 characters) instead to proceed. Click on the “Flat Rate Units”
button and enter a flat rate labor operation code number “without spaces” in the field to the right, click on the
“Search” icon to display the corresponding listing of “Flat rate unit group details” that are available and their
corresponding FRU allowances.

If other eligible and covered work is performed because of performing the ISTA diagnostics, related test
plans, and/or other approved diagnosis procedures, claim this work with the applicable Repair Code listed in
AIR together with the corresponding labor operation codes and their flat rate unit (FRU) allowance(s),
