This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after October 15, 2023
(MDH 1015XX) and on or before January 06, 2024 (MDH 0106XX)
equipped with the 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel Engine w/ESS (Sales Code
EXJ).

SYMPTOM:

**Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):**
● **P026D - Fuel Injection Quantity Higher Than Expected.
● P0133 - O2 Sensor 1/1 Slow Response.**
● P2297 - O2 Sensor Out of Range During Deceleration Bank 1 Sensor 1.

CAUSE:

Sensor Malfunction

This bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 25-002-24, date of issue April 20, 2024, which
should be removed from your files. All revisions are highlighted with **asterisks** and include new
DTCs, added markets, updated Customer Symptom statement, updated Repair Procedure.
This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 24-078,
date of issue April 20, 2024. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service
action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library.
All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty.
REPAIR SUMMARY:
This bulletin involves inspecting for proper O2 sensor adaptation and, if necessary, replacing the O2 sensor.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/
Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other
than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before
proceeding further with this bulletin.
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list
exhibits any of the symptom listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Complete a Road Test to see if O2 Adaptation is completed 8-16 km (5-10 miles) - Highway speeds need
to be reached during road test after the vehicle is fully warmed up.
2. A 10 second (no throttle) coastdown (on an exit ramp if possible) from 112 Kph (70 Mph) to 64 Kph (40
Mph) needs to be achieved. This maneuver allows the ECU to run the plausibility check of the O2 Sensor.
3. Check Status of the O2 Sensor Adaptation: Using WiTech, check the Lambda (O2) Sensor value "O2
(UEGO) Sensor Adaptation":
NOTE: If the value reads 0.024414062 this indicates that the O2 sensor did not complete
plausibility during the drive and the road test needs to be repeated to establish the O2
Adaptation and Plausibility.
4. Is the sensor value between 0.02442 and 0.0282?
● YES>>> The O2 Sensor is not at fault. Use Inspect LOP (25-01-70-9H) to close this active RSU. Further
diagnosis is needed.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 5.
5. Is the sensor value above 0.0282?
● YES>>> The O2 sensor needs to be replaced. Proceed to Step 6.
● NO>>> Further diagnosis is needed.
6. Replace the O2 Sensor. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library under: Service Info> 09 - Engine, 3.0L Turbo Diesel / Engine Sensors / Removal and Installation.
7. Run the wiTech routine "02 Sensor Replace" in the PCM.
NOTE: This routine will initialize the 02 sensor. The routine should only be ran if the 02 sensor,
ECM, MAF, fuel injector or rail sensor have been replaced.

8. **Clear all DTCs that may have been set.**
