1. Place a clean 5 gallon bucket under the heater burner located
under the vehicle behind the rear passenger wheel well.

2. Using clamp pliers, loosen the clamps and slide up the hose for
both burner connections.
3. Carefully remove the hoses from the heater burner and allow
the system to completely empty into the bucket. (Figure 1)

4. Prep the new coolant hose and
auxiliary circulation pump
assembly. Using clamp pliers:
A. Uncoil supplied coolant
hose and cut it
approximately in half.
B. Install to the top side of
the coolant pump. (Figure
2)
C. At the opposite end of the
cut coolant hose, cut the
hose to create a 90
degree bend with
approximately 3-4 inches
on each side. (Figure 3)

D. Install the smaller piece of coolant hose to connect the first fan to the opposite end of the coolant
pump. Secure with clamps. (Figure 4)

E. Providing a smooth arc without kinks, cut the coolant hose to length and connect to the heat
exchanger. (Figure 5)

5. With the system emptied, inspect the coolant hose
connection from the fans to the tank. If there is any
kinking in the hose (Figure 6):
A. Using clamp pliers, loosen the clamp at the tank
and remove the hose connection.
B. Install a 2 inch piece of hose to the tank.
C. Install a 90 degree brass elbow to the hose.
D. Cut to length and install the previously installed
hose to the other side of the 90 degree brass
elbow.

6. Install the auxiliary circulation pump jumper harness:
A. Plug in one end of the supplied auxiliary circulation pump jumper harness to the pump.
B. Route the jumper harness to the previously installed pump.
C. Un-plug the harness connection from the pump and plug into the jumper harness.
D. Plug in the remaining plug connection from the jumper harness to the previously installed pump.
7. With the second pump installed, re-secure the hoses and hose clamps to the heater burner.

SYSTEM FILLING & PURGING INSTRUCTIONS
1. In the Settings (Figure 7), select the Pump Override option. By selecting
the Pump Override, the coolant pump will run for 10 minutes and purge
air from the coolant system.

2. With all coolant hoses connected and free from kinks, fill the Timberline
tank with 1 gallon of antifreeze.
3. With the system purged, fill the Timberline tank with a second gallon of
antifreeze.

System Verification:
1. Heat and Hot Water: verify the system is functioning correctly by selecting the burner and the hot water
options. (Figure 8) Let the system run for 15 minutes. In the Settings Service Info (Figure 9), the Tank
Temp, Heater Temp and Heat Exchanger should reach about 120 degrees and start producing heat and hot
water.

Adding Water Flow Restrictor
1. In the rear storage compartment,
open the rear passenger side
compartment door.
2. Using a screw gun with square bit,
remove the ventilation grill. (Figure
10)

3. Viewing through the ventilation hole, locate
the water mixing valve.

4. Using a screw gun with square bit on an
extension, remove the clamp securing the
mixing valve.
5. Access to the fitting may require access
from the ventilation hole and the plumbing
access (Black door).
6. Install the water restrictor valve: (Figure 11)
A. Remove the hot water (red hose)
elbow connection from the bottom
of the water mixing valve.
B. Add Teflon tape around the threads
of the water restrictor valve.
C. Install the water restrictor valve to
the elbow connector.
D. Add Teflon tape around the threads
of the union connector installed to
the bottom of the water
mixing valve.
