Summary
SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM - SSPD5 - WARRANTY EXTENSION - MULTI-MODEL - VALVE STEM SEALS CLASS ACTION In conjunction with a Class Action Settlement, Mazda
Motor Corporation has decided to conduct an extension of the Engine powertrain warranty related to excessive oil consumption. In addition, there is a Reimbursement Program, for limited qualifying out-of-pocket expenses (prior oil changes and additional oil purchased before the normal oil change interval due to oil consumption concerns) on certain CX-9, CX-5, Mazda6, Mazda3, and CX-30 vehicles equipped with a 2.5L turbocharged engine with the affected valve stem seals. For all Mazda dealers, an FAQ document for this Class Action Settlement and all documents for SSPD5 will be available on Mazda Global Service Support (MGSS) on or before May 13, 2024 concurrent with notification to the Settlement Class.

WARRANTY EXTENSION
If you have any questions regarding this campaign, please read the Mazda Dealer FAQ’s available in
MGSS under this campaign before contacting Dealer Recall Help.
On certain 2021-2022 Mazda3, 2021-2022 CX-30, 2021 Mazda6, 2021 CX-5, 2021 CX-9 vehicles,
and only those listed in eMDCS under this campaign are eligible. This campaign is an extension of
the powertrain warranty to 7 years or 84,000 miles, if the vehicle meets the criteria outlined in the
warranty extension.
If the vehicle is under Powertrain Warranty, please submit the claim following normal Warranty
guidelines. If the vehicle is over 5 years or 60,000 miles, use Warranty Claim information for
SSPD5.
This SSP will not cover other unrelated powertrain items such as transmission, differential or engine
failure not related to oil consumption.
Prior repair reimbursement: Customers who received a class action notice can apply for
reimbursement at www.MazdaValveStemSealSettlement.com for certain out of pocket expenses
related to prior oil changes and additional oil purchased before the normal oil change interval due to
oil consumption concerns.

RENTAL CAR INFORMATION
Rental expenses exceeding the two-day limit or over the per day limit set by Mazda Warranty
policy will require prior Warranty Department authorization prior to giving the rental to the
customer regardless of the reason. Please refer to the Mazda Rental Car Reimbursement Program
policy in the Mazda Warranty Policies and Procedures Manual.
Mazda recommends the usage of the MCVP loaner vehicle when available. If all MCVP loaner
vehicles are in use and unavailable, and the customer needs a rental car, then use your local rental
facility and offer a rental car. Be sure that every effort is made to repair the car within one business
day or less, so the next customer can receive the same experience.
