Initial publication

The customer requests that the gesture-controlled rear lid opening/closing function, commonly referred to as
virtual pedal, be deactivated.

Technical Background
It is possible to deactivate the virtual pedal functions if the customer wishes.
For Audi Q7 and Q8 models, this option is no longer available as of model year 2023. All 2024 models are also
excluded from this TSB and are unable to have the function deactivated.

1. Access control module OBD for the
46 module and select
“Adaptation”.
2. Click the caret to the left of
“Personalization of user account
1” (Figure 1).
3. Scroll down to “Rear lid release via
rear lid open sensors”.
4. Click the “Input” field and set it to
“Off”.
5. Repeat these steps for the
personalization of user account(s) 17.

screen, click the caret to the left of

7. Scroll down to “Rear lid release via
rear lid open sensors”.
8. Click the “Input” field and set it to
“Off”.
9. Perform a 10 second key cycle and
check the function of the virtual
pedal.
To re-activate, follow the same steps
listed above however change the
“Input” setting to “On”.

• Resetting the user accounts to factory settings changes these values to “on”.
• Coding of the Comfort control module -J393- (address word 46) may revert the changes to “on”.
• If the virtual pedal functions are inoperative with no DTC, check the personalization settings above.
• The virtual pedal feature is no longer available from MY23 on (sedan models only), see TSB 2067818.
Replacement of the Comfort control module -J393- (address word 46) will revert changes to “on”.
Coding of the Comfort control module -J393- (address word 46) may revert the changes to “on”.
