Please see SI B01 10 19 (DC 16 11 90 01 00). For this vehicle, the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor
limited warranty for defects in materials or workmanship has been extended to 15
year/150,000 mile as determined from the original in-service date. This coverage is subject
to the same vehicle eligibility requirements, limitations, and exclusions that apply to the
BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks.
G30 PHEV TZEV (June 2024)
SI B01 10 19 (DC 16 11 90 01 00): For this G30 PHEV, the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor limited
warranty for defects in materials and/or workmanship has been extended to 15
years/150,000 miles as determined from the original in-service date. This coverage is
subject to the same vehicle eligibility requirements, limitations, and exclusion criteria that
apply to the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty. 2018 model year G30 PHEV models that
are registered in California or a State that has fully adopted the State of California TZEV
emission regulation, the standard emission-related coverage for this component is 15
years/150,000 miles.
The 2018 model year G30 530e Sedan and xDrive Sedan PHEV TZEV models have been added with the
posted update of this bulletin dated June 2024.
Note: Before performing a repair and submitting a claim, first confirm that the above Notice shows, confirming
that it applies to the vehicle.

SITUATION
Component-Specific Extended Limited Warranty (ELW)
For the eligible vehicles and for the issue
described below, BMW of North America, LLC
(BMW NA) is extending the limited warranty for
the vehicle’s Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (Item
# 1 shown) to:
15 years/150,000 miles as determined by
the vehicle’s original in-service date.
This component-specific limited warranty
extension applies to defects in materials and/or
workmanship.
This coverage is subject to the same vehicle
eligibility requirements, limitations, and exclusion
criteria that applies to the BMW New Vehicle
Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light
Trucks.
Issues with the fuel supply module/level sensor assembly and its related components, the fuel door
cover pot (ejector and drive), the filler flap (door) itself and/or the emergency release mechanism are
not included under this extended warranty coverage.
Note: This bulletin is notice of a limited warranty extension. This is NOT a notice of a Recall or Service
Action.
There is no immediate repair required unless the BMW vehicle is currently experiencing this problem.
Customer Notification Letter
Even though this is NOT a Recall, BMW NA is sending VIN-specific customer notification letters.

CAUSE
PHEV Special Requirement and Operation
The PHEV fuel tanks are designed for the special requirements that arise from the hybrid operation, for
example, operation of the vehicle alternates between the combustion engine and the electric motor. As a
result, excess pressure can build up due to the gasoline vapors, this excess tank pressure must be dissipated
before the fuel filler cap is opened.
As outlined in the Refueling Procedure attachments, the vehicle’s operator performs a pressure equalization
procedure to address the above situation. After this procedure is completed, only then can the fuel filler flap
(door) be opened to access and remove the fuel cap for refueling.
Possible Concern or Issue
Even though the pressure equalization procedure has been performed/completed, the fuel filler flap (door) still
cannot be opened and/or related fuel tank readiness indicator (code) does not reset.
The fuel tank pressure sensor may fail, and this could be what is causing the above concern or issue.

CORRECTION
Follow the instructions in the PROCEDURE section.

If a vehicle listed above arrives at your center with the concern or issue described in this Service Information
Bulletin, perform the following ISTA diagnosis test module:
ABL-DIT-AT1614_TDS_VENT (Tank pressure sensor and valves)

The path to access this test module is “Drive / Fuel supply / Tank function electronics / Tank pressure sensor.”
As determined or as instructed after completing the applicable diagnosis, replace the fuel tank pressure sensor.
Note: Issues with the fuel supply module/level sensor assembly and is related components, the fuel
door cover pot (ejector and drive), the filler flap (door) itself and/or the emergency release mechanism
are not included under this extended warranty coverage.
When applicable, invoiced these other items on the repair order separately, and review for other coverage that
may apply including for repairs related to fuel delivery and/or fuel level.

Only order these parts in the quantities needed to address customers’ vehicles that have confirmed failures.
Additionally, other materials and small parts that are not specified above, such as fluids, lubricants, one-time
use screws, nuts, and seals, which must be replaced or installed according to the ISTA repair instructions/ETK,
must be selected from the Electronic Parts Catalogue, or other approved BMW resources, according to the
respective vehicle type. Invoiced these items separately under the Repair Code below.

CLAIM INFORMATION
For eligible US-specification BMW vehicles that are registered and operated in the United States (including
Puerto Rico), this component-specific 15 year/150,000-mile extended limited warranty coverage for defects in
materials and/or workmanship applies to qualifying repairs performed by authorized BMW centers.
For the 2018 model year G30 530e Sedan and xDrive Sedan PHEV TZEV models listed above:
If the vehicle is registered in the State of California (CA), or a State that has fully adopted the CA TZEV
regulation (CT, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, OR, RI, and VT), under the terms of this regulation, the standard
fuel tank purge valve emission-related coverage is 15 years/150,000 miles.
This coverage is subject to the same vehicle eligibility requirements, limitations, and exclusion criteria that
applies to the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks.
The existing limited warranty coverage for the whole vehicle and other components has not changed.
This coverage supersedes the coverage that is provided under the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Program or any
BMW Group Vehicle Service Contract that applies to the vehicle.
The replacement fuel tank pressure sensor is then covered by the remaining portion of the extended limited
warranty coverage period.
Non-Qualifying Repairs
Repairs performed on ineligible vehicles, eligible vehicles operated and repaired outside the United States and Puerto Rico,
and/or the diagnosis and repair of other unrelated issues, or issues due to outside influence are not covered by this limited

warranty extension. This exclusion also applies to repairs, including consequential, that were performed using non-genuine BMW

BMW Group’s AIR Application Resource for Flat Rate Labor Operation Codes
To obtain the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowance information from the BMW Group AIR application
resource, start by entering the the Chassis Number (last seven (7) characters of the VIN), and click on the
“Search” icon. If the “Vehicle Selection” window displays two or more model possible vehicle choices, select the
applicable Model, or enter the full VIN (17 characters) instead to proceed. Click on the “Flat Rate Units” button
and enter a flat rate labor operation code number “without spaces” in the field to the right, click on the “Search”
icon to display the corresponding listing of “Flat rate unit group details” that are available and their
corresponding FRU allowances.
Previous Customer-Pay Repairs – Limited Warranty Extension Reimbursement
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW NA) will provide reimbursement for qualifying customer-pay repairs that were performed on
an eligible vehicle prior to the release of this component and issue specific limited warranty extension.

Note: The 2018 model year G30 530e Sedan and xDrive Sedan PHEV TZEV models have been added
with the posted update of this bulletin dated June 2024.

Repairs That Do Not Qualify for Reimbursement
Repairs performed on ineligible vehicles, eligible vehicles operated and repaired outside the United States and Puerto Rico,
and/or the diagnosis and repair of other unrelated issues, or issues due to outside influence are not covered by this limited
