Campaign Bulletin: This campaign bulletin addresses a non-safety-related condition and provides recommended technical
diagnosis and repair procedures. Apply this procedure to the applicable vehicles.

Condition
Certain Standard Range Model 3 and Model Y vehicles that received the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) HV Battery
Retrofit did not receive the 2nd row floor reinforcement plate, which provides additional protection for the LFP HV
Battery.

Correction
Retrofit the 2nd row floor reinforcement plate on the vehicle.
NOTE: If this bulletin is applicable to the vehicle, perform the correction without any need for inspection.

Procedure
1. Remove the rear carpet (refer to Service Manual procedure 15303202; Model 3, Model Y).
2. Use an IPA wipe to clean the 2nd row floor panel area (Figures 1 and 2) and allow the alcohol to dry for at least
one minute.
NOTE: Model 3 and Model Y vehicles may have butyl padding or Liquid Applied Sound Deadening (LASD)
(Figure 2) applied to the 2nd row floor panel; there is no need to remove the butyl or LASD.

3. Without removing the protective backing from the floor reinforcement plate, perform a test fitting of the plate on the
2nd row floorboard to understand how the plate should be positioned (Figure 3).

4. Remove the protective backing from the floor reinforcement plate (Figure 4), and then position the plate on the
2nd row floor panel (Figure 3). Press down firmly on the plate so that it adheres to the 2nd row floor panel.
NOTE: The floor reinforcement plate can be installed on top of any butyl padding or LASD.
TIP: If necessary, perform this step with assistance.

5. Install all parts that were removed for access.
