Forest River is alerting you to an issue involving certain 2023-2024 Prism Class C Motorhomes. Please see the
information below, which describes the issue and provides you with details on the steps you should take to have your
vehicle repaired.
WHAT IS THE ISSUE?
The furnace status staying present after the air conditioner compression had activated. This is isolated to the FireFly G12
Board. Of which, due to the insufficient network termination on the RV-C. It was further deduced that if the RV-C network
lacks two terminating resistors, the system will not operate as intended.
OWNERS: WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free repair. The vehicle
Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest River
of
the issue and provide the TSB number (located at the top of this page) to the dealership. It is also helpful to give the
dealership a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the repair.

Turn off LP Gas at LPG Tank(s). Place vehicle in (P) Park and engage the Parking Brake. Disconnect the
vehicles’ battery Positive and Negative, disconnect any House battery(s) Positive and Negative, if
equipped with a generator ensure it is off and lastly, ensure the vehicle is disconnected from shore power.

How To Install a Shunt Jumper
on the G12 Panel in your RV
This instruction sheet is going to cover how to install a shunt jumper on the G12 panel in your
coach. This G12 control panel is connected to your communications network and provides
power to different kinds of devices that are connected to the panel. It also has inputs for items
such as temperature sensors and tank sensors.

Shunt Jumper
Location
The Shunt Jumper is located near these Mini
Plug sockets where the communication drop
cables plug into the panel. In order to see the Shunt Jumper you will need to remove the
cover on the G12 panel.

Accessing the Panel
Since your panel has already been installed in the coach the first thing we will need to do
is gain access to the G12 panel.
You will find the G12 panel is
located behind the panel that
has the Touch screen and the
leveling system mounted to it.
There is also a rocker switch
mounted on that same panel.
There are four screws holding
this panel on. Remove those four
screws, and carefully pull the
panel away from the wall.
There will be several cables
attached to the devices mounted
in the panel, be careful not to
pull any of the cables off of them.
Once the panel has been
removed you will have access to
the G12 panel.

The next thing to do will be to kill
power to the panel. You will do this
by turning Off the main 12VDC
Shutoff switch for the unit. It should
be located on the other side of the
steps on the end of the cabinet.

Removing the White Molex Connectors
Now, unplug the white Molex power output cables and set them aside. Some of these plugs
will have a clip or clips that will need to be depressed in order to get the plug off of the board.
You should also have a single wire that has a crimp-on connector pushed onto a spade just
under the straight eight position molex connector. Remove this wire as well.
Please note that the Molex plugs are all a different size or shape, so when you plug them back
in you cannot plug any of them into the wrong spot. Simply find the socket that the plug fits on
and push it on.

Removing the Communication Wires
Now, unplug the orange drop communication cables and set them aside. There is a small tab
on one side of these plugs that must be pressed in to release the plug. Once all plugs have
been removed from the panel you can remove the G12 panel cover.

Take the cover between your fingers like this and lift slightly (See Figure 1), just enough to
clear the housing of the G12, and then pull back, sliding the cover out from between the little
notches that hold it down. Now you can easily access the shunt jumper pins.

You can see here that there are two pins sticking up (See Figure 2) off the
board. Now we will take this little shunt jumper and push it onto the two
pins (See Figure 3), making sure the jumper catches both pins. Once it is
all the way on we can replace the panel cover.

Putting it back together

First, Slide the G12 cover back into place (See Figure 4) on the panel making sure it is
all the way down in the slots.

Second, Plug the orange communication cables (See Figure 5) back into the board.
The order is not critical; just put them in so that the cables are not tangled and do not
have any pressure pulling on them.

Third, Plug the white Molex connectors and the Spade wire back in, making sure
they are snapped in completely. Once this is done replace the panel (See Figure 6)
and install the screws.

You are now ready to power your system back up.

Quel est le problème?:
L'état de la fournaise reste présent après que la compression du climatiseur se soit activée. Ce problème est isolé au niveau de la carte
de circuit FireFly G12. Ceci est dû à la terminaison insuffisante du réseau sur le RV-C. On en a alors conclu que si le réseau RV-C est
dépourvu de deux résistances de terminaison, le système ne fonctionnera pas comme prévu.

Fermez le robinet du réservoir de gaz propane. Débranchez les bornes positives et négatives de la batterie et de
toute autre batterie auxiliaire, si une génératrice est installée, assurez-vous qu'elle est à l'arrêt et enfin assurezvous que le véhicule n'est pas branché à une alimentation électrique extérieure. Bloquez les pneus et les roues
pour empêcher le véhicule de bouger. Le non-respect de ces règles peut provoquer une électrocution, un
incendie, des dommages à la propriété ou des blessures personnelles, et même la mort.

Comment installer un cavalier de
shunt sur le panneau G12 de votre VR
Cette fiche d'instructions explique comment installer un cavalier de shunt sur le panneau G12 de
votre véhicule récréatif. Ce panneau de contrôle G12 est connecté à votre réseau de communication
et alimente différents types d'appareils qui sont connectés au panneau. Il dispose également
d'entrées pour d'autres éléments tels que des capteurs de température et des capteurs de réservoir.

Le cavalier de shunt est situé près de ces prises miniatures où les câbles de communication se
branchent sur le panneau. Pour le voir, vous devez retirer le couvercle du panneau.

Accès au Panneau
Puisque votre panneau a déjà été installé dans le VR, la première chose à faire est d'accéder au
panneau G12.
Vous trouverez le panneau G12
derrière le panneau sur lequel sont
montés l'écran tactile et le système
de mise à niveau.Un interrupteur à
bascule est également monté sur ce
même panneau.
Quatre vis maintiennent ce panneau en place. Retirez ces quatre
vis et tirez avec précaution sur le
panneau pour l'écarter du mur.
Plusieurs câbles sont attachés aux
appareils montés dans le panneau,
veillez à ne pas tirer sur les câbles.
Une fois le panneau enlevé, vous
aurez accès au panneau G12.
Cabinet ou se trouve G12
La prochaine chose à faire est de couper
l'alimentation du panneau. Pour ce faire,
vous devez désactiver l'interrupteur principal de 12VDC de l'unité. Il doit se trouver
de l'autre côté des marches, à l'extrémité
de l'armoire.

Retrait des connecteurs Molex blancs
Débranchez maintenant les câbles de sortie d'alimentation Molex blancs et mettez-les de côté.
Certaines de ces fiches sont munies d'un ou plusieurs clips qu'il faut enfoncer pour les retirer de la
carte. Vous devriez également avoir un seul fil qui a un connecteur à sertir poussé sur une cosse
juste en dessous du connecteur Molex droit à huit positions. Retirez également ce fil. Veuillez noter
que les fiches Molex ont toutes une taille ou une forme différente, de sorte que lorsque vous les
rebranchez, vous ne pouvez pas en brancher une au mauvais endroit. Il suffit de trouver la prise sur
laquelle la fiche s'adapte et de l'enfoncer..

Retrait des câbles de Communication
Débranchez maintenant les câbles de communication orange et mettez-les de côté. Il y a un petit
onglet sur un côté de ces fiches qui doit être enfoncée pour libérer la fiche. Une fois que toutes les
fiches ont été retirées du panneau, vous pouvez retirer le couvercle du panneau G12.

Prenez le couvercle entre vos doigts et soulevez-le légèrement (voir illustration 1), juste assez
pour dégager le boîtier du G12, puis tirez vers l'arrière, en faisant glisser le couvercle entre les petites
encoches qui le maintiennent en place. Vous pouvez maintenant accéder facilement aux broches de
connexion du shunt.

Vous pouvez voir ici qu'il y a deux broches qui dépassent de la carte (voir illustration 2).
Nous allons maintenant prendre ce petit cavalier de shunt et le pousser sur les deux
broches (voir illustration 3), en veillant à ce que le cavalier s'accroche aux deux
broches. Une fois qu'il est bien en place,remettez le couvercle du panneau en place

Tout d'abord, remettez le couvercle G12 en place (voir illustration 4) sur le panneau en
veillant à ce qu'il soit complètement enfoncé dans les fentes.

Deuxièmement, rebranchez les câbles de communication orange (voir illustration 5) dans la
carte. L'ordre n'est pas important ; il suffit de les insérer de manière à ce qu'ils ne soient pas
emmêlés et qu'aucune pression ne s'exerce sur eux .

Finalement, rebranchez les connecteurs Molex blancs et le fil Spade, en veillant à ce
qu'ils soient complètement enclenchés. Une fois ceci fait, replacez le panneau
(voir illustration 6) et installez les vis.

Vous êtes maintenant prêt à remettre votre système sous tension.
