Note: For 2024 vehicles with a 9-speed transmission not listed here, refer to TSB 23NA-135.
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform the service department personnel about an
exception to the update of the GM 9-speed transmission fluid oil level control system
(OLC). The purpose of the system is to store fluid in the side cover as the transmission
warms up. The system used from the beginning of the 9-speed transmission thru 2023,
consists of:
• Open passage spacer plate
• Oil control on/off solenoid
• Oil level control valve 2024 Traverse Limited will be carrying over this content. It
should be serviced according to this TSB. Do not use TSB 23-NA-135 to service 2024
Traverse Limited.

Note: Ensure that the spacer plate with the open passage is used for 2024 Traverse
Limited.The valve body to transmission case spacer plate may be found to be covering
the passage (item #456).
When servicing the solenoid body or valve body, technicians must use new service kit for
9-speed transmission (M3V). The kit includes wiring harness, valve body, solenoid body,

and spacer plates. These components are not released individually for this vehicle. The
new valve body will have the correct spacer plate on it, however if using a spacer plate
from the transmission overhaul kit use this bulletin to confirm the proper plate is used.
Transmission quality concerns, including failure, can occur if the transmission is not serviced according to these instructions.
