IF YOU CONFIRM
The customer describes one, or more, of the following:




Loss of electrical power
Loud noise from the front of vehicle/engine area while running
The battery light is ON

AND


It is confirmed that the noise, if heard, is coming from the generator (alternator)

ACTION
Replace the Drive Belt Auto Tensioner, the Alternator, and the associated Drive Belt listed
in the PARTS INFORMATION on the last page.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Replace the Alternator, the associated Drive Belt, and the Drive Belt Auto Tensioner
(Figure 1).
Refer to the ESM:
o ELECTRICAL & POWER CONTROL > CHARGING SYSTEM > REMOVAL
AND INSTALLATION > GENERATOR
AND
o ENGINE > ENGINE MECHANICAL > MR20DD > REMOVAL AND
INSTALLATION > DRIVE BELT AUTO TENSIONER
