Description of Change
¢ The fuel pump pressure regulator is now a serviceable component and available for purchase.
¢ Updates have been made to the troubleshooting steps to give detailed instructions on
diagnosing this component (Troubleshooting Tree Update — Fuel Pump Pressure is
Malfunctioning).
¢ Anew Service Manual procedure for the fuel pump pressure regulator, 005-060 has been
created with additional updates to the service manual procedure 005-236, with a Gear Pump
Pressure Test in the low-pressure system check section. See Table 2 below.
¢ New failure code FHPR has been released for this component and should be used when filing
a claim for the fuel pump pressure regulator.
Reason for Change
The fuel pump ingests metallic debris, allowing debris to get logged in the fuel pump pressure
regulator, causing the fuel pump to be inoperative or low pressure in the fuel pump gear pump.
The presence of debris in the fuel pump regulator does not always indicate a fuel pump assembly
malfunction. Replace the fuel pump assembly only if directed by published troubleshooting.
