Introduction

Volvo Trucks has determined that certain VNRe model vehicles could be at risk of an electrical

short due to insufficient connector clearance caused by the rear ESS heater bracket. A new

updated heater bracket has been developed to provide sufficient clearance to heater connector.

Follow repair instructions below to install the updated heater bracket.

Repair Procedure

1. Follow instruction in Impact operation 2609-01-01-04 to decommission the 24-volt system and

drain the coolant.

2. Remove electrical connectors from both the heater, heater relay, and water pump.

3. Position a drain container.

4. Remove clamps and remove hose from both the heater and the water pump.

5. Remove pipes from the heater bracket.
6. Remove the pump and relay assembly.

7. Remove the heater assembly.
8. Remove and discard the heater bracket.

9. Install the new heater bracket P/N 24112754 and support bracket P/N 24111822.
10. Install the heater assembly.

13. Install hose and clamps.

14. Connect all electrical connectors.
15. Follow instruction in Impact operation 2609-01-01-09 to commission the 24-volt system and fill

the coolant.
