Trailer Tow Fuse Warranty Coverage — All Model Year Vehicles (with trailer tow package)
An analysis of warranty claims related to trailer tow fuses (14526) indicates blown fuses are being
replaced and submitted as warranty when the cause of the blown fuse was due to overloading the
circuits. Accessories that cause amperage to exceed the fuse maximum resulting in a blown fuse are not
covered under warranty (trailer lighting, trailer battery charge devices, defective trailer wiring
equipment, etc.).
¢ The vehicle Owner's Manual provides customers with the trailer tow related fuse specifications
and outlines proper towing practices, including disconnecting trailer tow wiring before
launching or retrieving a boat from water.
¢ Replacement cost of parts and labor for trailer tow fuses that have been overloaded is the
responsibility of the customer and should not be claimed as warranty.
