Information on Tire Rotation Recommendations

Models:

2010-2014 Chevrolet Camaro
Equipped with Split Front/Rear Tire/Wheel Sizes, 20” OEM (RPO QOO) or any 21” GM
Accessory Wheels
This PI is being revised to add the 2012-2014 model years. Please discard PI0408.

Condition/Concern
Customers may not be aware that tire rotation is possible on the above vehicles, as different size tires are used, front
to rear. The Pirelli P-Zero and P-Zero Nero tires used on these vehicles are of an asymmetrical tread design that
when combined with recommended alignment angles may create conditions that result in tire heel / toe wear.

Recommendation/Instructions
Side to side tire rotation is possible and suggested on these vehicles. To clarify this point, the Camaro owners
manuals have been updated to include the recommendation for 7,500 mile (12,000 km) interval, side to side tire
rotations, and the graphic below.

Slight or mild feathering, cupping, edge or heel/toe wear of tire tread shoulders is “normal” and can show up very
early in a tire/vehicle service mileage; in fact, some new tires can show evidence of feathering from the factory.
These issues do NOT affect the overall performance and tread life of the tire and following this recommended tire
rotation schedule and pattern will provide maximum tire life for the customer.
Note: Heel / toe treadwear if allowed to progress past about 15,000 miles (24,000 km) may result in increased or
objectionable tread noise.
Important: Tires on this vehicle must never be rotated front to rear, or rear to front; only rotating left rear to right rear
and left front to right front is acceptable.
