Our records indicate that you are the owner of a vehicle equipped with a Cummins X15 engine that was
built before Cummins obtained final certification to GHG24 requirements. DTNA has decided to share the
following documentation with you.

IMPORTANT
The subject vehicles are equipped with Cummins X15 engines that do not meet GHG24 emissions
requirements. There are vehicle labels that must be replaced and/or installed before Cummins can update
the engine with a new calibration, data plate, and turbo actuator.
Note: This work must be completed before March 1, 2025.
Work must be scheduled with a Cummins distributor location at least 3 business days (Monday – Friday)
before work is to be completed. This update requires serialized labels that must be sent via overnight
delivery.
Materials needed to complete vehicle updates must be requested by sending an E-mail to Eric Keerbs
([email protected]) at least two business days before any work is to be performed. The
following information must be included in the request to avoid delays:

Serial number of the vehicle to be updated (last 6 digits of the VIN)

•

Contact person, including E-mail, street address and phone number – the materials will be sent to
this individual.
These materials will be sent by FedEx with next-day delivery.
Cummins has published Campaign C7014 which outlines the work that a Cummins distributor must
complete.
Materials provided for vehicle update.
•

One VIN-specific Vehicle Emissions Compliance Information label and clear cover label

•

Two serialized Clean Idle labels – one for each front door

•

One printed copy of the Cummins X15 owner’s manual

Work Instructions
1. Park the vehicle in an indoor location.
2. Open the driver’s door.
3. Locate the Vehicle Emissions Compliance Information label.
a. Carefully remove this label from the driver’s door. Applying warm air from a heat gun may
make it easier to remove the label.
b. Clean any label residue with denatured alcohol. DO NOT use paint thinner, lacquer
thinner, acetone, or any other petroleum-based solvent, as this may damage the paint.
c. Locate the replacement Vehicle Emissions Compliance Information label and the clear
cover label in the packet of labels.
d. Carefully apply the Vehicle Emissions Compliance Information label to the driver’s door.
e. Apply the clear cover label over the Vehicle Emissions Compliance Label.
4. Close the driver’s door.
5. Locate a space at the front lower corner of the driver’s door that is large enough to apply the first
Clean Idle label.
a. Clean the area with denatured alcohol. DO NOT use paint thinner, lacquer thinner,
acetone, or any other petroleum-based solvent, as this may damage the paint.
b. Dry the area with a clean shop towel.
c. Once the surface is clean and dry, apply the Clean Idle label to the driver door.
6. Locate a space at the front lower corner of the passenger’s door that is large enough to apply the
second Clean Idle label.
a. Clean the area with rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol. DO NOT use paint thinner,
lacquer thinner, acetone, or any other petroleum-based solvent, as this may damage the
paint.
b. Dry the area with a clean shop towel.
c. Once the surface is clean and dry, apply the Clean Idle label to the passenger door.
7. Place the printed engine owner’s manual on the passenger seat or hand it to the driver after these
steps are complete.
Note: Once these steps are complete, the engine can be updated by a Cummins distributor. Reference
Cummins campaign C7014.
