This is to revise and replace Campaign 7014, dated 21-Mar-2024. This revision is to:

1. Update the Action, and
2. update the ESN list, and
3. adding Attachment D.

If additional information is required, please contact your Cummins Warranty Operations
Group Leader.

Description

Certain X15 CM2450 X142B Beta engines need to be upfit to production specifications. This field
action authorizes certified repair locations to update the ECM calibration to the production ECM
code, install a new turbocharger actuator, install a new dataplate, install a new EPA clean idle
sticker.

Note : This action does NOT affect the California issued Clean Idle Stickers. California
Clean Idle stickers should NOT be removed.

Action
In order to qualify for repair under this field action, an engine:

1. will be covered Regardless of coverage status, and
2. must show as OPEN on QuickServe® Online for this field action.

Note : The ESN list is attached for reference.
After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:

¢ 1. DATAPLATE REPLACEMENT:

e 1a. As required, to obtain a corrected data plate, please refer to Attachment B - REVISED. The
new dataplate MUST be ordered through completing the steps on
http://replacementdataplate.cummins.com.

Note : Please refer to Attachment D. Unique information for your specific ESN to
fill in the request can be found in Attachment D.

¢ 1b. As required, remove the old engine data plate, clean the area with denatured alcohol or
other acceptable solvent, and install the new engine data plate. The new data plate must be
placed in the correct location with the same orientation as the original engine data plate.

Note : All removed engine data plates must be destroyed.

¢ 2. ECM CALIBRATION CODE UPDATE:

¢ 2a. Please refer to Attachment D. Identify the new base ECM calibration code as indicated in
Attachment D.

¢ 3. Install the new turbocharger actuator per procedure 10-134 in the appropriate service
manual.

e 4. Secure and apply an EPA Clean Idle Sticker Installation. Please refer to Attachment C for
detailed instructions for sticker installation.

Note : This part must be ordered and installed by a Cummins Distributor. Sublet
this service as needed. Reimbursements for sublet services MUST be filed to other
claimables.

e 5.As indicated above, please refer to Attachment D to confirm the correct ECM production
calibration appropriate for your specific ESN. If ECM already contains the most recent
calibration revision, DO NOT recalibrate the engine. No further action is needed. File a claim
for Admin and 17-902 Campaign Check to close the eligibility of the engine.

¢ 6. If a previous calibration revision is installed in the engine, download the latest calibration
available on QuickServe® Online. Use the calibration revision history date to identify the latest
calibration revision available. Please refer to Procedure 019-032 in the appropriate Service
Manual.

Note : Certified repair locations outside of California, who elect to perform this
campaign on engines installed in vehicles which are registered in the state of
California, are authorized to do so if they have the two items noted below in their
inventory. Please note that the Label, Authorized Change and the Proof of
Correction Form must be ordered through standard parts processes. They are not
available on QSOL.

¢ 7. If applicable, a "Label Authorized Change," Cummins part number 5297400, must be filled
out and affixed to the engine. Clearly print or type "ECM Calibration Update" in the center box.
Fill in the Campaign Number, Distributor or Dealer Code, and Date information. Peel off the
backing material and install the label on the engine valve cover near the engine data plate.

There is a clear protective cover on this label; peel the backing off of this cover and push the
clear cover over the printed material. This will help protect the label during engine operation.
Label cost and appropriate SRT time can be claimed per Campaign guidelines.

8. If applicable, an "Emissions Campaign - Proof of Correction" form, Bulletin #4310621, must
be filled out and provided to the Customer. Inform the Customer to retain this certificate as
proof that the Emissions Campaign has been performed. This form may be required as proof
of an Emissions Campaign by the State of California, for vehicles registered in that state, the
next time the vehicle registration is renewed. Form cost and appropriate SRT time can be
claimed per the Campaign guidelines.

9. File one claim for the applicable listed parts and required labor to complete the repair. SRT
17-902 should ONLY be claimed if the unit DID NOT require an updated calibration.

Material Disposition

Where applicable, items removed should be returned to ReCon for core credit. Unless otherwise
indicated, items with no core liability can be scrapped.

installed in vehicles registered in the state of California. They are OPTIONAL for all

other applications.

Note : SRTs to gain access that are required to complete the repair, that are sufficiently
explained in the claim narrative, may also be claimed on this action.

Note : All SRTs listed are OPTIONAL. Select only the SRTS required to complete the
upfit. For California registered vehicles ONLY, SRT 17-901 for up to .1 hours can be
claimed for completing the Label - Authorized Change and the Emissions Campaign -
Proof of Correction forms.
