Condition
Some customers may comment on a noise coming from the removable sky panels when

driving on bumpy or rough roads. The noise is usually described as a rattle, click, or snap

noise that can be worse when the interior is hot due to high sun loads and high ambient

temperatures.
Cause
The cause of the condition may be due to excessive clearance between the center roof

lift off panel insert housing and the center roof lift off panel.
Correction
Install washers underneath the I-Bar pocket receivers.
Service Procedure

under this bulletin, including but not limited to

handling, deploying, preparing, classifying,

packaging, marking, labeling, and shipping

dangerous goods. In the event of a conflict between

the procedures set forth in this bulletin and the

laws that apply to your dealership, you must follow

those applicable laws.

Important: This technical service bulletin (TSB) can

only be completed by certified repair facilities who have

met all specific training, tool and equipment

requirements pertaining to the vehicle Brand and Model

serviced. Repairs must be performed by a technician

who has successfully completed the required training.

Begin by removing all 4 sky panels, set aside in a safe

location.

1. Remove the four nuts (1) from the Front I-Bar.

2. Remove the Front I-Bar (1).

Note: Be careful not to damage the weather—strip

cover around the panel when removing the panel.

3. Place the I-Bar on a protected secure table with the

interior side facing up.

4. Remove the two trim panel push-pin retainers and

remove the I-Bar panel cover.

5. Unscrew the I-Bar pocket receivers from the I-bar.

6. Place a washer at each of the four bolt holes

underneath the pocket receivers.

7. Reinstall the pocket receivers, torque to 9 nm.

8. Reattach the trim cover and push-pin fasteners.

Reinstall the front I-Bar in the correct orientation.

properly sealed.

9. Use soapy water to clean the weather strips and

then apply a very light application of AC Delco

Super Lube to the weather strips.

10. Reattach the front sky panels.

Rear I-Bar Washer Installation

Note: The rear I-Bar is not removed for this portion of

the repair.

1. Remove the rear I-Bar trim panel by pulling down

on the panel to disengage the retainers.

2. Remove both I-Bar pocket receivers.
5. Reattach the rear I-Bar trim cover.

6. Use soapy water to clean the weather strips and

then apply a very light application of AC Delco

Super Lube to the weather strips.

Reinstall the rear sky panels.
