Summary
TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: EWP COOLANT HOSE REPLACEMENT - This bulletin provides information to replace the Electric Water Pump (EWP) coolant hose on some 2023-2024MY Niro EV (SG2 EV) vehicles produced from July 11, 2022 through January 24, 2024, which may exhibit a coolant leak from under the bulkhead due to a loosened EWP coolant hose at the EWP connector. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, a "Refill coolant" warning message may appear in the instrument cluster, followed by reduced heater performance. The retainer clip on the EWP coolant hose on the vehicle is positioned horizontally on the hose which may come loose after time. The improved coolant hose has the retainer clip rotated 90 degrees to be positioned vertically.

EWP COOLANT HOSE REPLACEMENT
SUBJECT:
This bulletin provides information to replace the Electric Water Pump (EWP) coolant hose on some 20232024MY Niro EV (SG2 EV) vehicles produced from July 11, 2022 through January 24, 2024, which may exhibit
a coolant leak from under the bulkhead due to a loosened EWP coolant hose at the EWP connector. If the
vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, a “Refill coolant” warning message may appear in the
instrument cluster, followed by reduced heater performance. The retainer clip on the EWP coolant hose on
the vehicle is positioned horizontally on the hose which may come loose after time. The improved coolant
hose has the retainer clip rotated 90° to be positioned vertically. Follow the procedure outlined in this
publication to replace the EWP coolant hose with a new and improved part on the applicable vehicle.

EWP COOLANT HOSE REPLACEMENT
SUBJECT:
Replacement Procedure:
1.
Perform the ‘High Voltage Shut-Off Procedure’
by referring to “Body Electrical System → High
Voltage Shut-Off Procedures → High Voltage
Shut-Off Procedures (Steps 1-4 Only)” in the
Shut-Off
applicable Shop Manual on KGIS.
2.
Drain the Coolant by referring to “Cooling
System → Coolant → Coolant” in the applicable
Shop Manual on KGIS.
3.
Disconnect the EWP coolant hose connector
(A) from the EWP (B).

4.
Disconnect the EWP coolant hose connector
(A) from the high voltage battery
(HVB) (C).
5.
Install the ‘new’ EWP coolant hose (A) in the
reverse order of removal.

Perform Coolant Refilling and Air Bleeding by
referring to “Cooling System → Coolant →
Coolant” in the applicable Shop Manual on
KGIS.
Note: Air Tightness Inspection for Coolant Line
procedure outlined in KGIS does NOT need to
be performed for this specific EWP hose
replacement.
7.
Reinstall all other removed parts in reverse order of removal.
8.
Confirm normal vehicle operation.
