If necessary, a commercially available cutter blade can be used for this purpose.

2.2

Remove residues with grain 180 sandpaper and roughen the surface.

Rework backrest frame in the area of excess foam residue on the backrest cushion on the left and
right side of the front seat.
Information
A helper is required to perform this action on the side of the seat airbag.

3.1

Cut four 100 mm/ 3.94 in long felt strips  Reworking backrest frame -1- off the felt strip
with part number 00004320744.

3.2

Push backrest pad away from backrest frame until the adhesive area  Reworking backrest
frame -2- between the backrest pad and backrest frame is accessible.

3.3

Glue two felt strips  Reworking backrest frame -1- next to each other in the adhesive area
 Reworking backrest frame -2- inside on the backrest frame between holes  Reworking
backrest frame -A and B-.

A commercially available plastic wedge can be used for process-safe operation. Removing

Then tighten screws at the bottom of the backrest cover with with tightening torque 2.3 Nm
