Replace the front brake calliper (left and right).  Workshop Manual 'Removing and installing front

Replace the front brake discs.  Workshop Manual 'Removing and installing front brake disc'

Replace the rear brake pads.  Workshop Manual 'Replacing rear PCCB brake pads'

Replace the rear brake calliper (left and right).  Workshop Manual 'Removing and installing rear

Replace the rear brake discs.  Workshop Manual 'Removing and installing rear brake disc'

9

Bleed the brake system.  Workshop Manual 'Bleeding brake system'

10 Code the vehicle.
The PIWIS Tester 4 cable MUST be connected to the vehicle for programming.
NOTICE
Voltage drop

Before disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.



Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.



Connect battery charger/power supply - Suitable for AGM Type batteries, recommended current
rating of 90A fixed voltage 13.5V to 14.5V.
10.1

90999 - PIWIS Tester 4 must be connected and the ignition switched on.

10.2

Select “Diagnostics”. 90999 - PIWIS Tester 4 detects the model range.
Press Next. PIWIS Tester 4 Diagnostics starts.

10.3

Maintenance of vehicle data.
10.3.1

Select Additional menu by pressing •F7“. The question “Create vehicle analysis
log (VAL)?” appears. Press •F11“ to confirm.

10.3.2

Select the Maintenance of vehicle data function. Press •F12“ until PR
numbers appear in the Value group column.

10.3.3

Select Front brake version in the Family column. Touching the cell behind Front
brake version opens the drop-down menu.
Select 1LQ.
Press •F12“ to change values.

10.3.4

Select Rear brake version in the Family column. Touching the cell behind Rear
brake version opens the drop-down menu.
Select 2EL.

Press •F12“ to change values.
10.3.5

The selected values appear. Press •F8“ to write values. Wait until the following
message appears: Generation of vehicle data is complete. With ......
Press •F11“ to switch to the control unit overview.

10.4

Adapt coding.
10.4.1

Select all control units by pressing •Ctrl A“. Press •F12“ to continue.

10.4.2

Switch to the Coding/programming menu. Press •F12“ to continue.
Select Automatic coding mode. Press •F12“ to continue.

10.4.3

Wait until the following message appears: Coding was completed successfully.
Press •F12“ to continue.
Press •F12“ to return to the Overview menu.

Switch off the ignition and disconnect 90999 - PIWIS Tester 4.

10.6

Disconnect the battery charger.

Replace 8 disc brake pads and 4 brake discs (front and rear); replace 4
brake callipers
Includes:
Raise the vehicle, remove and install the wheels and bleed the
brake system.

Labor time: 370 TU
