Release of DiagnosticLink® 8.19 SP1

SUBJECT DETAIL
On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, the Service Pack (SP) 1 for DiagnosticLink 8.19 Standard
and Professional will be made available to download from the Detroit Diesel server. This
release includes the following updates:

Added Engine Mounted PTO (EMPTO) parameter panel.
Resolved an issue with the sBSP ESC calibration routine for Western Star 45X.
The PTO Parameter and Instrumentation panels have been modified for clarity of
setup and monitoring.
Resolved issue where both the HVAC Front and Rear Stepper Motor Calibration
panels displayed an error even though the routine completed successfully.
Resolved issue where the XMC I/O Control panel displayed ‘security access is
denied’.
Resolved issue where the Fuel Injector Cleaning Machine (FICM) panel Start/Stop
button does not always update correctly when a routine is run for second time.
Resolved issue where the fault linking for Transmission Control Manual (TCM) was
not supported for the DT12 transmission manual download.
Resolved issue where ADR/Program Device button click events may not be
received or caused ‘permission denied’ dialog in locked-down systems.
Improved client tool connection to the vehicle.
The behavior has been modified for parameter domain read warnings to only
display the warning if the complete set of parameters could not be read.
Resolved issue where the tool pulled incorrect troubleshooting for the connected
vehicle.
Added ERC Reset to Refrigerant Management panel.
Added PTC Inlet Coolant Temperatures to the eDrive Temperature and Speed
Monitoring panel.
Made correction to the panel title from ‘Coolant Fan Control’ to ‘Cooling Fan
Control’ panel.
Additional enhancements and improvements.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have DiagnosticLink 8.19 Standard or Professional to
receive SP1.
DiagnosticLink® 8.18 and earlier versions will not receive this service pack.
On Thursday, December 7, 2023, DiagnosticLink® 8.19 was released to the service
network. In order to maintain access to Detroit server data, all Reprogramming Stations
must be kept up-to-date with the current version of DiagnosticLink software. Keep
software current to avoid interruptions.
UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: You must have DiagnosticLink 8.19 installed on your computer prior to
applying this patch.
SP1 will automatically download when you connect to the DDC server. Please do the
following:
1. Open DiagnosticLink software.
2. From the Tools drop-down menu, select Update….

3. A screen will display showing the progress of the download. Follow the
installation prompts to complete the download.
4. Verify that the patch has been applied by selecting About from the Help dropdown
menu. Then verify the following:

MANUAL UPDATE
A download link is available that allows manual downloading and installation of the
DiagnosticLink 8.19 SP1 patch for advanced users and system administrators. To access,
login to DTNA Portal - DiagnosticLink support page at:
https://dtnacontent-dtna.prd.freightliner.com/content/dtnaportal/en/ServiceLP/Service_Diagnostics_and_Tools/DiagnosticLink.html and click on the
8.19 SP1 download link from the Downloads section. Download the 8.19 SP1 installer
patch and save to the local machine and run. Use the Repair option and follow the setup
guide to complete the installation.
TECH SERVICE SUITE (TSS) UPDATE
TSS users will receive the SP1 update via the TSS cloud. No action required.
