Some customers may comment on the charge port door not closing all the way and/or the
charge port door sticks out at the bottom.
Cause

The cause of the condition may be due to excessive material on the charge port door.

Correction

Refer to the procedure below to remove some of the material so that the door may close
fully as intended.

Service Procedure
Important: Service agents must comply with all
International, Federal, State, Provincial, and/or
Local laws applicable to the activities it performs
under this bulletin, including but not limited to
handling, deploying, preparing, classifying,
packaging, marking, labeling, and shipping
dangerous goods. In the event of a conflict between
the procedures set forth in this bulletin and the
laws that apply to your dealership, you must follow
those applicable laws.
If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern,
complete the following:
1. Turn the vehicles wheel to the full left position to
make it easier to work around the vehicles charge
port door.
2. Position the charge port door to the fully open
position.

3. Remove the Front Fender Ornamentation Vent (1).

4. Using a trim type tool, release the retainers on the
charge port door (1) from the housing.

5. Once the charge door is removed, apply tape to
the painted areas surrounding the location in which
the fender ornament was removed, like pictured
above.

6. Sand down all the protruding rectangle slots till
they are flush with the surrounding areas like
pictured above.
Important: Be careful to not damage the painted areas
surrounding the location the ornament is installed.
7. Once the areas are sanded down, reinstall the
ornament.

The illustration above shows the amount of
material needed to be removed. 1.6 mm on the
side illustrated with the (A) , and 0.25 mm from the
two sides (B). The final measurements should be
6.81 mm by 6.6 mm.
Important: Be careful to not damage the painted
areas.

8. While the charge port door is open, use a suitable
file, elongate the existing hole shown on the
charge port housing. Elongate the hole to the
red line.

9. Reinstall charge port door and verify that it closes
as intended.
