de-ac vate the subject circuit pre-maturely. The X4 Control Board is the electronic module that controls
many of the RV’s systems (including awnings, leveling, slide-outs, lights, tank heaters, and others). The
tank heater por on of the system is intended to cut out at 20Amp, but has been observed to cut out as
low as 10-17A. In some instances, especially in colder condi ons, it is possible that the tank heater
circuit will shut off earlier than intended, and could poten ally lead to the tank or icemaker line freezing.
The remedy for this incorrect electrical se ng is to install an in-line relay between the X4 board and the
high current (HC) latch/tank pad and water line. It is highly recommended that a qualified electrician or
cer fied RV Technician performs the work.
We are ins tu ng a Customer Sa sfac on Campaign (CSC-2402) for all Model G units with VIN#’s as
referenced above.
All Dealers are being no fied of this Campaign and work instruc ons have been provided. Brinkley RV
and the Control Board supplier (Lippert) will pay for the Campaign to be completed. There is no
charge to you for the remedy.
Although the remedy is a simple one, we want to stress the importance of ge ng this remedy
completed promptly. While the subject condi on poses no safety risk, it could poten ally create a
nuisance scenario under certain condi ons within the product's intended applica on. If you plan to
camp in freezing temperatures, the remedy should be performed prior to your planned trip to ensure
that your holding tanks and icemaker line do not poten ally freeze due to this premature circuit cut out.

Please know that Brinkley Customer Care is here to help facilitate this remedy. We will happily help you
locate an authorized Brinkley RV Dealer. If the facts and circumstances of your situa on warrant, we will,
in our discre on, work with a mobile technician to come to you to perform the work in accordance with
our warranty guidelines.

for all Model G units between VIN# ending in 000006 to 000462, Excluding: 000011,
000077, 000450, 000457-000459.
The remedy for this incorrect electrical setting is to install an in-line relay between the
X4 board and the HC latch/tank pad and water line. Brinkley RV and the Control
Board supplier (Lippert) will pay for the Campaign to be completed. There is no

charge to you for the remedy.

We are instituting a Customer Satisfaction Campaign (CSC-2402) for all Model G units
between VIN# ending in 000006 to 000462, Excluding: 000011, 000077, 000450,

000457-000459.
All Dealers are being notified of this Campaign and work instructions have been
provided. Brinkley RV and the Control Board supplier (Lippert) will pay for the
Campaign to be completed. There is no charge to you for the remedy.
Although the remedy is a simple one, we want to stress the importance of getting this
remedy completed in a timely manner. While the subject condition poses no safety
risk, it could potentially create a nuisance scenario under certain conditions within the
intended application of the product.
We are happy to help with scheduling the work as needed with your selling Brinkley
Dealer or other authorized Brinkley Dealer. If the facts and circumstances of your
situation warrant, we will, in our discretion, pay to have a mobile technician come to
you to perform the work.

This Customer Sa sfac on Campaign only affects Model G and includes the following units (last 6
digits of your VIN): 000006 to 000462, Excluding: 000011, 000077, 000450, 000457-000459
Please contact your dealer and request a service appointment to schedule the free remedy. The vehicle
Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. That said, Brinkley Customer Care is
here to assist and will help facilitate the repair as needed. Please also note that the repairs must be
performed by an electrician or RV technician. Brinkley Customer Care has the remedy kits in stock and
will ship these to your dealer or technician immediately upon request. The remedy process will take
roughly 30 minutes to perform.
Owners within the CSC scope will be receiving le ers in the mail with more informa on. Owners within
the retail scope will also receive an email from Brinkley RV with the same informa on that is being
mailed to your address of record. It is also very helpful to the dealership or technician to have a copy of
that le er with you when you take your vehicle in for the CSC remedy. You may contact Brinkley

Purpose
This document outlines the procedure to address fresh tank heater output via the X4 One Control board on
Brinkley model G toy haulers. This output for ‘Fresh Tank Heater’ on the X4 will turn off after a short period
of time rendering the tank pads and heated water line for the ice maker in the fridge ineffective. To alleviate
this, an in-line relay must be placed between the X4 board and the HC latch/tank pad and
water line.

Safety

This document provides general instructions. Many variables can change the circumstances of any
procedure, i.e. the degree of difficulty involved in the service operation and the ability level of the individual
performing the operation. This document cannot begin to plot out procedures for every possibility, but will
provide the general instructions for effectively installing, removing or servicing the system. In the event the
skill level required is too advanced or the procedure too difficult, a certified technician should be consulted
before performing the necessary operation. Failure to correctly install, remove or service the system may
result in voiding the warranty, inflicting injury or even death.

death, serious personal injury, severe product and/or property damage if not performed safely and
within the parameters set forth in this document.

Before performing this procedure the coach MUST be disconnected from shore power and power to
the system turned off by turning the Main Disconnect knob to the "OFF" position. Failure to do so
could result in electrical shock, sparks, property damage, and/or personal harm.

Disconnect the coach from shore power.
Open the top front storage compartment (Fig. 1A).
Disconnect power to the X4 board by turning the "MAIN DISCONNECT" knob (Fig. 2A) to the
"OFF" position.

Locate the access panel in the in pass-through (Fig. 3A) and remove the three screws securing it (Fig.
3B). Set the screws aside for later reuse. The X4 board (Fig. 4A) will be revealed behind the panel.

Locate and disconnect the 2-pin connector on the X4 labeled ‘LATCH OUT HC’ (Fig. 5A). This connector
is comprised of the 12AWG Orange wire (Fig. 5B) and the 12AWG Blue wire (Fig. 5C).

Find the other end of the end of the 12AWG orange wire (Fig. 6A). Remove the WAGO
connector (Fig. 6B) from the 12AWG orange wire and the 10AWG blue wire (Fig. 6C).

NOTE: Do not confuse the 10AWG blue wire with the 12AWG blue wire attached to the connector in
Figure 5. The 10AWG blue wire runs from the tank pad and water line. For this procedure, the
12AWG blue wire coming from the connector in Figure 5 is not altered in any way.

Crimp female quick connects (Fig. 7A) on both the 12AWG orange and 10AWG blue wires.

NOTE: The 12AWG red and 12AWG
white wires should come preattached to the relay assembly.

Run the other end of the 12AWG white wire to the ground bar (Fig. 9A) mounted on the floor below
the X4 board and secure it with a screw driver.
10. Connect the ring terminal end of the 12AWG red wire to the power lug located near the "LATCH OUT
HC" connector on the X4 board (Fig. 10A).
11. Reconnect the 2-pin "LATCH OUT HC" connector to the X4 board (Fig. 10B).

12. Secure the relay assembly (Fig. 11A) to
the hanging wire harness (Fig. 11B) using
zip ties or electrical tape.
13. Cover the X4 board with the access panel
and secure it with the previously set
aside screws.
14. At the top front storage compartment,
turn the "MAIN DISCONNECT" knob
back to the "ON" position, and close the
compartment.
