AG (MBAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 2022 GLE and GLS (167 platform) vehicles, corrosion on the solenoid may occur in the electric coolant pump. In this scenario, a yellow coolant warning lamp may be shown in the instrument cluster. MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will inspect the electric coolant pump and replace it, if necessary.

This is to notify you of the Service Campaign Launch to inspect the electric coolant pump on 7,889 Model Year (“MY”) 2022 GLE
and GLS (167 platform) vehicles. The vehicles will be visible and flagged in VMI as “OPEN” on January 5, 2024.
Background
Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has
determined that on certain MY 2022 GLE and GLS (167 platform) vehicles, corrosion
on the solenoid may occur in the electric coolant pump. In this scenario, a yellow
coolant warning lamp may be shown in the instrument cluster.
Issue
What We’re Doing
MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will
inspect the electric coolant pump and replace it, if necessary.

Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that
on certain MY 2022 GLE and GLS (167 platform) vehicles, corrosion on the solenoid may occur in
the electric coolant pump. In this scenario, a yellow coolant warning lamp may be shown in the
instrument cluster.
Prior to performing this Campaign:

VMI must be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the campaign is required on
a specific vehicle. Always check for any other open campaigns, and perform accordingly.
•
Please review the entire Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as
described.

Inspect Electric Coolant Pump
Check Procedure 1
1. Remove front section of the right fender liner.
For basic information, see: AR88.10-P-1301ME.
2. Remove screw (1, Figure 1) and carefully pull electric coolant pump (M43/6, Figure 1) towards the wheel arch until the
area to be checked is legible.
3. Read the manufacturer designation (B, Figure 1) of the electric coolant pump (M43/6, Figure 1).
If necessary, clean the electric coolant pump (M43/6, Figure 1) in the area to be checked.

4. Read the ten-digit production number (A, Figure 1) of the electric coolant pump (M43/6, Figure 1) with a flashlight
and note it down.
Search for the ten-digit production number (A, Figure 1) using the search function (key combination Control + F)
in the List of production numbers for the "Vitesco" electric coolant pump, at the end of this document.
c. If the ten-digit production number (A, Figure 1) is not listed: End measure.
d. If the ten-digit production number (A, Figure 1) is listed: Perform Work Procedure.

1. Replace electric coolant pump (M43/6, Figure 1).

2. Assemble in reverse order.
