General Information

It is the opinion of Daimler Trucks North America that our products should be ordered with the correct options
(sales data codes) from the factory. We understand that cannot always be accomplished. The following bulletin
provides information regarding the Technical Modification process (formerly known as ‘Courtesy Engineering’).
Please note that Technical Modification requests are for adding options/features offered in Production. ‘Custom
Engineering’ is outside of the scope of this service.

« Valid sales data codes are required: Not supplying accurate, valid data codes adds an avoidable delay and
unnecessary Engineering time to a request, and extends the lead time for other requests in the queue.

¢ There is a fee for using this service.

Minimum Fee for No Response/Lack of Communication* $300 (this is billed after 7 days with no

ABS Server Programming/Updates $300 + Engineering time if required

* Billing usually takes place on a weekly basis. The charge is billed through the DTNA parts account. Invoices
can be provided by the dealer's accounting department the following week.

Information Regarding the Service
This service is only offered for most vehicles currently in production.

The TechMod group consists of a couple individuals serving multiple countries and multiple brands. The group
works as fast as possible but a large backlog could mean weeks for the request to be completed.

If a submitted request needs to be cancelled, please communicate that through the ‘Chatter’ function (‘Post’) in
Daimler Trucks Technical Support/Salesforce.

This service provides a parts list including the following:
¢ Part numbers
* Quantities
* Installation drawings
¢ Wiring schematics
« Parameters (if applicable)
« CAD screenshots (if applicable)
* Special instructions (i.e. critical torque specs) (if applicable)
« Bill of materials (BOMs) to reference in PartsPro
This service does not provide the following:

¢ Step by step instructions

Standard repair times (SRTs)

Modification support for prohibited changes (safety systems with active braking (i.e. Assurance 5.0,
Onguard, etc.), changing emission levels, etc.)

Modifications that affect fuel economy for GHG21 vehicles (build date 1/1/21 and later)

Warranty coverage

Documentation (global notes in PartsPro are the responsibility of the dealer)

w& Note: Dealers who wish to use this service can submit a case using Daimler
Trucks Technical Support located on the DTNA Portal.

Procedure to Submit a (Daimler Trucks Technical Support) Technical Modifications Case through DTNA Portal
1. Go to DTNA Portal and login using the credentials.

@ Note: If you are unable to submit a Technical Modification request, contact
your dealer DTNA Portal administrator.

2. From the sidebar on the right-hand side of the screen, select ‘Daimler Trucks Technical Support’. Selecting
