Summary
SITUATION A Check Control message displays for “Transmission oil service required†(ID 2120). This warning can betriggered: From 60,000 miles (95,000 km) to 78,000 miles (125,000 km) After six years: The time interval of “six years†starts from the production date of the vehicle, not onthe day of the first registration or the completion of the pre-delivery check (PDI). If the vehicle is driven more than approx. 1900 miles (3,000 km) after the first CCM, then a second message will be display for “Transmission fault!†(ID 368).

SITUATION
A Check Control message displays for “Transmission oil service required” (ID 2120). This warning can be
triggered:
From 60,000 miles (95,000 km) to 78,000 miles (125,000 km)
After six years: The time interval of “six years” starts from the production date of the vehicle, not on
the day of the first registration or the completion of the pre-delivery check (PDI).
If the vehicle is driven more than approx. 1900 miles (3,000 km) after the first CCM, then a second message
will be display for “Transmission fault!” (ID 368).
CAUSE
The oil in the double clutch transmission ages with increasing usage, as well as depending on the vehicle’s
driving profile.
When the transmission oil reaches the end of its service life, a regular "transmission oil change in the double
clutch transmission" is required.
CORRECTION
Change the oil in the DCT (aka DKG, German abbreviation for Doppelkupplungsgetriebe).
PROCEDURE
Follow Repair Instruction 00 11 276 Oil change in the double-clutch transmission (DKG).

resource, start by entering the Chassis Number (the last seven (7) characters of the VIN, select the
applicable Model if two or more vehicle choices show), or enter the full VIN (17 characters), click on the
“Search” button. Next, click on the “Flat Rate Units” button and enter the flat rate labor operation code in the
field to the right, click “Search” to display the Flat Rate Unit Group detail choices.
