This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after May 02, 2023 (MDH
0502XX) and on or before September 19, 2023 (MDH 0919XX).

SYMPTOM:

Customers may comment on one or more of the following:
• A/C will not function.
• A/C is not blowing cold.

CAUSE:

Leaking Evaporator.

This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 23-309,
date of issue November 15, 2023. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service
action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library.
All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty. This RSU will expire 18 months after the
date of issue.
REPAIR SUMMARY:

DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RSU VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list
exhibits any of the symptom listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Turn on the A/C system.
2. Set the blower fan to speed 1.
3. Set the recirculation closed.
4. Keep all of the windows and doors closed.
5. Position the A/C vent to the panel position and open the diffusers.
6. Set the A/C system in the Max A/C operating mode.
7. Using the leak detector (EQ-10353143), inspect for a freon gas leak inside the cabin by placing the probe
in the central diffuser Fig. 1.

8. Is there a leak in the evaporator detected?
• YES>>> Proceed to Step 9.
• NO>>> This bulletin has been completed. Use Inspection LOP (24-65-02-90) to close the active RSU.
9. Replace the evaporator. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service
Library under: Service Info> 24 - Heating and Air Conditioning / Plumbing / Evaporator, A/C / Removal and
Installation.
