This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after June 12, 2023 (MDH
0612XX) and on or before July 10, 2023 (MDH 0710XX) equipped with
Power Adjustable Pedals W/Memory (Sales Code XAM).

CUSTOMER
SYMPTOM:

The adjustable brake pedal is inoperable. The braking function is not affected but the power adjustment
does not work. The acceleration pedal can be power adjusted still.

CAUSE:

Brake adjustment drive cable damaged.

This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU)
23-253, date of issue September 01, 2023. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this
RSU service action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library. All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty. This
RSU will expire 18 months after the date of issue.

the VIN list exhibits the symptom listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair
Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE: The pedals can be adjusted with the ignition in the OFF position.
1. Verify if the adjustable brake pedal is functioning by pressing the activation button (Fig. 1) .

2. Did the brake pedal adjust?
• YES>>> This bulletin has been completed, use the Inspection LOP (05-50-02-93) to close the active
RSU.
• NO>>> Proceed to Step 3.
3. Replace the brake and accelerator pedal assembly. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library under: Service Info>05 - Brakes / Hydraulic/Mechanical / Pedal(s),
Brake and/or Accelerator / Removal and Installation.
4. Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH), perform a “Learn ETC” routine. This routine can be found in PCM Misc
Functions.
5. Perform a “ABS Initialization” routine. This routine can be found in BSCM Misc Functions then ABS
Initialization.
