The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern
Important: This PI covers a condition in which a message is displayed incorrectly. All exterior lamps will continue to
function correctly if this condition presents itself.
On rare occasions a customer may comment that the DIC displayed either Right or Left Low Beam Failure but that all
of the exterior lights continue to function normally. The vehicle may have stored any of the following DTCs: B257C
B257D U1501 U1502 U1511 U1512 U1521 U1522 U1531 U1532

Recommendation/Instructions
Important: This condition will not affect lamp operation.
For vehicles built BEFORE 10/01/2012:
Program the Body Control Module (BCM) with the latest calibrations available in TIS2WEB following published Body
Control Module Programming and Setup procedures found in SI. Verify that the battery is not at a low charge.
For vehicles built on or AFTER 10/01/2012:
Engineering is currently evaluating this concern. Verify the latest BCM calibrations are installed and that the battery
is not at a low charge; then review the Customer Information section below.

Customer Information
For vehicles built AFTER 10/01/2012, please communicate to the customer that we apologize for this inconvenience
and that General Motors is working on a solution for this concern. This concern will NOT affect lamp operation.
Once a solution is available, this PI will be updated with additional details - allowing dealership personnel to contact
the customer to schedule a service appointment and repair the vehicle.
