Ground Effects - Service Fix For Gapping At Corners Only

Models:

2010 - 2013 Chevrolet Camaro
Equipped with GM Accessory Ground Effects Kit
This PI was superseded to update model years. Please discard PIC5262B.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern
Customer may comment that the GM Accessory Ground Effects kit is separating from the body at the corners.

Recommendation/Instructions
This service fix only applies to reattaching the corners of the Ground Effects package and is not be used for any
other attachment concerns with the Ground Effects package.
1. Wipe clean the area of concern on the vehicle prior to proceeding with the service fix. Refer to figure 1 below for
the following:
2. Pull the edge of the Ground Effects molding (1) away from the fascia (2) to allow access for applying primer, see
table 1 for recommended products. Apply primer to the inside surface of the Ground Effects molding as
indicated (3). Avoid excess primer contracting the visible surfaces of the Ground Effects molding. Allow 20
minutes for the primer to dry.
Important: WORK TIME COULD BE AS LITTLE AS 50 SECONDS IN STEPS 3 & 4 (Depending on which product
was selected from the table below).
3. Apply plastic adhesive to the primed surface (4), see table 2 for recommended products.
Note: Do not mix primer/adhesive combinations (e.g. Item A primer to be used with Item A adhesive only. B with B,
C with C).
4. Protecting the Ground Effects molding with a cloth, clamp cloth and the fascia together. Wipe off any excess
adhesive from the top of the joint. Only remove the clamp after the curing time has been achieved.
