Description

This campaign is being issued to address potential concerns with the rubber damper on certain L9
CM2450 L126B engines installed in Temsa applications. This document authorizes certified
Cummins repair locations to upfit from the Rubber Damper (PN DA9365) to Viscous Damper (PN
DA9293).

Note : This Campaign authorizes ONLY proactive repairs. All failures in-field must be
filed to the appropriate warranty coverage.

Note : This field action provides retroactive coverage for repairs made in anticipation of
and prior to the release of this publication.

Action

In order to qualify for repair under this field action, an engine:

1. will be covered Regardless of coverage status, and
2. must show as OPEN on QuickServe® Online for this field action.

Note : The ESN list is attached for reference.
After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:

1. Please remove the rubber damper, crankshaft adapter and discard both.

2. Install a Viscous Damper. Please refer to Procedure 001-052, Vibration Damper, Viscous in
the appropriate Service Manual.

3. Install new Crankshaft Adapter and a new OEM Crankshaft Pulley. Please refer to Procedure
001-017 Crankshaft Adapter in the appropriate Service Manual.

Note : Please contact marvin.borntrager@temsa.com to receive a crankshaft
pulley, TEMSA PN RP171244Y.

Material Disposition

Where applicable, items removed should be returned to ReCon for core credit. Unless otherwise
indicated, items with no core liability can be scrapped.

RP171244Y. Please note that costs associated with the OEM Pulley cannot be filed
under the Parts Section. OEM Pulley costs MUST be claimed under the Other

documents, invoice details and shipping costs for future reference.

complete the repair, but not listed, may be claimed in Other Claimables. Please

CAMPAIGN SUPPLIES or other appropriate selections. A total of $330.00 (USD) is
allowed for reimbursement for the OEM supplied parts. Please include brief summaries
on the details of items claimed. A lack of documentation in the narrative may result ina
reduction in claim reimbursement or claim denial.
