RCA-60-23-001-1: Improved Fender Liner and Front
Subframe Underbody Panel Clearance
Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built
with hydraulic suspension jounce lines that could contact the front underbody subframe panel and/or the
front wheel liners. Over time the hydraulic suspension jounce lines may rub through due to this contact. As
a result, the vehicle may experience a loss of hydraulic pressure, suspension sag, increased body roll, and/
or the vehicle may enter a reduced performance safe-state mode with limited speed. If the vehicle enters a
reduced performance safe-state mode, there will be a notification displayed and a malfunction indicator lamp
illuminated on the driver display. Rivian will replace the front underbody panel and the front wheel liners with
updated parts that will not interfere with the front hydraulic suspension jounce lines. Rivian is launching this
campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

Procedure
1. Raise and Support Vehicle (refer to service manual procedure 981020017).
2. On both sides of the vehicle: Inspect the highlighted component for a notch in the indicated area.
• If there is no notch: Replace: Panel, Underbody, Front Subframe (refer to service manual
procedure 606515010).

• If there is a notch: The underbody panel does not need to be replaced. Continue to the next
step.

3. On both sides of the vehicle: Inspect the highlighted component for a notch in the indicated area.
• If there is no notch: Replace: Liner, Wheel, Front (refer to service manual procedure 607610010).

• If there is a notch: The fender liner does not need to be replaced. Continue to the next step.

4. Reinstall all components that were removed for access and replace all non-reusable components. Refer
to the service manual procedures referenced in this document for additional component reusability
information and torque specifications.
