WINDSHIELD WATER LEAK REPAIR (SERVICE CAMPAIGN 9A6)

This TSB supersedes 23-01-085H to include retail vehicles.

 IMPORTANT
Dealers must perform this service campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery
and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
Access the “Vehicle Information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns.
Description: Certain 2024MY Tucson (NX4A) and Santa Cruz (NXT) vehicles may exhibit water
intrusion in the front passenger cabin from improper sealing of the windshield glass. This bulletin
provides the procedures to fill in the gap of the urethane seal between the body and windshield glass.

still under warranty, submit a separate claim using the same repair order. If the affected part is out of
warranty, submit a Prior Approval request for goodwill consideration prior to performing the work.
NOTE 3: This TSB includes Repair validation photos. Op times include VIN, Mileage, and Repair
validation photos as outlined in the Digital Documentation Policy.
NOTE 4: $10.00 will be reimbursed via sublet for use of the sealant under labor op 30DA33R0.

Service Procedure:

This TSB includes Repair validation photos. Refer to the latest Digital Documentation Policy for
requirements.
Service Procedure
1.

Open the hood and locate the A-pillar body
panel seam near the hood hinge at the
passenger side.

i Information
If possible, it is recommended to perform
this repair in the shade or inside a building.

2.

Remove the syringe plunger and add
approximately 5 ml of the Permatex
Windshield and Glass Sealant into the syringe.

3.

Reinstall the syringe plunger and push in the
plunger until sealant begins to flow out at the
end of the syringe.

Insert the syringe underneath the windshield
glass, following the body panel seam until the
indicated depth (A) is reached.

Insert the barrier tube (B) next to the syringe,
keeping it parallel to the syringe.

Inject 1 ml of sealant, then wait 5 seconds.
Repeat until all of the sealant has been
injected.

7.

Remove the syringe, but leave the barrier tube
in place for 10 minutes.

STUI
Using STUI, take a photo of barrier tube
with the last 6 digits of the VIN and the
date of repair on a piece of paper.
Upload the photo to STUI.

i Information
It is normal for the sealant to drip out after
injection. The drip will stop as the sealant
cures and the amount of sealant lost will
not affect the repair, as long as the proper
amount of sealant was injected.
8.

After waiting 10 minutes, remove the barrier
tube.

9.

The sealant will be set after 1 hour and will be
fully cured after 24 hours.
