WPJ7 - Re-Routing Wiring Harness in Transmission (Workshop Campaign)

Concerns:

Wire harness in transmission

Cause:

There is a possibility that the wire harness in the transmission was not routed according to
specifications on the affected vehicles.
If this is the case, damage to the line insulation cannot be ruled out over the service life of the vehicle. As
a result, a yellow warning message “Transmission faulty – reverse gear not available” would be displayed
on the instrument cluster. A reduced onward trip would also be possible in the event of an error.

Action:

Re-route wire harness in transmission.

 Screw connection for transmission control unit -1 to 20-Loosen screws but do not
unscrew them in order to loosen the potentially clamped wire harness and then be able to
re-route it.

Remove wire harness  Transmission wire harness -1- under the plug contacts  Transmission
