General Information

When using the bluetooth speaker on the upper center console, the operator has to shout to be heard on the

opposite end of the conversation. This bulletin is to relocate the microphone closer to the driver, which results in

better clarity on the other end of the call as well as replacing the current hands-free microphone with a higher

gain microphone to improve pick up performance and reduce customer complaints.

All vehicles equipped with Pana-Pacific radios and current bezels part numbers: For day cab (A18-69037-000)

and sleeper cab (A18-68901-000) built before November 27, 2023.

Removal of the Bluetooth Microphone

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.

2. Remove the center reading lamp assembly.

Remove the Torx® fastener that retains the light on the overhead center bezel. See Fig. 1.

7. Bend the microphone trim retaining tabs to remove the cover from bezel. See Fig. 6.

Installation

1. Install the bluetooth microphone trim on the bezel and depress the retaining tabs.

2. Install the microphone on the trim and make sure that the microphone retaining tabs snap into place.

3. Install the supplied jumper harness as shown in Fig. 7.

4. Install the center overhead bezel on the clip attachment locations.

5. Install the bezel retaining fasteners and tighten 24 to 48 lbf·in (271 to 542 N·cm).

6. Connect the bluetooth microphone jumper harness.

7. Connect the center reading lamp harness. See Fig. 3.

8. Install the reading lamp on the center bezel retaining clips.

9. Install the retaining fasteners on the reading lamp and tighten 26 to 34 lbf·in (294 to 384 N·cm).
