Some customers may comment that they have difficulty turning the key in the emergency
trunk release cylinder, located behind the upper, center of the rear seatback cushion.

All convertibles come with a key extender packaged in with the loose shipped items from
the assembly plant. The key extender should be placed in the glove box at the time of
Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).
Caution: Failure to use the key extender could cause the key to twist and break in the
cylinder.
The key extender should be used when opening the trunk, from the lock cylinder located
behind the rear seat back cushion.
Additional information regarding the proper usage of the key extender can be found in the
Emergency Trunk Release (Convertible Only) section of Trunk in the Owner Manual.
