Condition
Customer states:
Cracks in the tire sidewall near the wheel flange.
Workshop findings:
One or multiple cracks can be seen in the rubber on the tire sidewall. Individual crack or multiple cracks spread
across the tire bead. They are 1-2 mm deep (Figures 1 to 4).

Technical Background
As part of the manufacturing process, optical deviations may occur on the tire sidewall.
Affected tires:
Continental Sport Contact 7, size 285/30 ZR22 (101Y) XL
• Only DOT 35/23 to 44/23 are affected.

The cracks are only superficial and do not impact the tire function.
