Purpose
This document provides information for the BaseCamp™ 5th Wheel Leveling System controls for RV transport drivers.
Prior To Operation
1. Make sure the 5th Wheel is parked on a reasonably level surface.
2. — Clear all jack landing location of debris and obstructions. Location should also be free of depressions.
3. When parking the 5th Wheel on extremely soft surfaces, utilize load distribution pads under each jack.
4. Make sure all persons, pets and property are clear of the trailer while the LCD 5th Wheel Leveling system is in operation.
5. Ensure the system is connect to a fully charged, 12V Automotive/Marine/RV approved battery with a minimum
rating of 500 CCA, 625 MCA, and with a capacity of at least 60 Ah.
Safety
Always wear eye protection when performing service, maintenance or installation procedures. Other safety
equipment to consider would be hearing protection, gloves and possibly a full face shield, depending on the
nature of the task.
The use of the Lippert BaseCamp 5th Wheel Leveling System to support the trailer for any reason other than which it
is intended is prohibited by the Lippert Warranty. The BaseCamp 5th Wheel Leveling System is designed as a leveling
system only and should not be used for any reason to provide service under the trailer, e.g. changing tires or servicing
the leveling system.
Lippert recommends that a trained professional be employed to change the tires on the trailer. Any attempts to
change tires or perform other service while trailer is supported by the BaseCamp 5th Wheel Leveling System could
result in damage to the trailer and/or cause serious injury or death.

The 5th Wheel MUST be supported per manufacturer's recommendations before working underneath. Any
attempts to change the tires, or perform other service, while 5th Wheel is supported solely by the Lippert
BaseCamp Level-Up® with Automatic Leveling system could result in death or serious personal injury, severe
product and/or property damage.

A fluid leak within a highly pressurized hydraulic system can cause serious skin-penetrating injuries. Wear
appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as long sleeves, gloves, protective eye wear or a full
face shield, when performing service or maintenance to the 5th Wheel.

Operation Str
1. Locate the touchscreen (Fig. 1) and open the touchscreen door, if
equipped, by placing a finger underneath the latch (Fig. 1A) and
pulling outwards.

2. Enter the default PIN, 5241 and press the green check button (Fig. 2A).
3. The touchscreen menu changes depending on prior actions. Extending
and retracting the landing gear can always be done from the ARRIVAL
(Fig. 3) and DEPARTURE (Fig. 5) screens. To access the ARRIVAL or
DEPARTURE screens from the CAMPING screen (Fig. 4) tap the back
arrow (Fig. 4A).

Hitching Instructions
1. Press and hold Extend (Fig. 3A or 5A) to extend the landing gear jacks and Retract (Fig. 3B or 5B) to retract the
landing gear.
2. Connect to the tow vehicle and make sure the 5th Wheel and hitch are connected and locked.
3. Press and hold Retract (Fig. 3B or 5B) to put the weight of the 5th Wheel onto the tow vehicle.
4. Press Retract All (Fig. 5C) to automatically retract all the jacks.
5. Close the touchscreen door, if equipped, after use to protect it.
Unhitching Instructions
1. Press and hold Extend (Fig. 3A or 5A) to extend the landing gear jacks and Retract (Fig. 3B or 5B) to retract the
landing gear.
2. Press Extend (Fig. 3A or 5A) to lower the landing gear and take the weight off the tow vehicle and disconnect the hitch.
3. Pull the tow vehicle away a safe distance.
4. Close the touchscreen door, if equipped, after use to protect it.
