SITUATION
Starter motor does not turn over when key is pressed due to voltage drop when trying to start the engine. In
some cases the entire electrical system of the motorcycle switches off and has to be switched on again.
This Service Solution (SESO) supersedes the service solution posted in AIR.
CAUSE
Battery Fault (Exide)
SOLUTION
The relevant quality issues at Exide battery (61 21 8 389 125) have been be resolved with current
production and the parts stocked in the warehouse have been cleared out. It is therefore no longer
necessary to change the Exide type battery with the East Penn battery type.
However, should the symptoms (starter not turning over even though the battery is fully charged - FID
switches off when trying to start) still occur with a new Exide battery, please contact us via TSARA.
