Granturismo - steering column control stuck
DATE: JULY 31 2023

Certain Maserati GranTurismo (189) MY24 listed in MODISCS+ are involved in a Rapid Update to check the

operating function of the power tilt/telescopic steering column.

This action is needed to verify the correct functionality of the power tilt/telescopic steering column which

in some cases could get stuck during operation.

We remind you that all the Rapid Updates must be performed within the first workshop visit, regardless of

the Mandatory setting set in Modis, as required by Maserati policies.

Also, for vehicles in Stock Dealer / PDI, it is necessary to carry out all action operations before delivery to

the end customer, as required by the White Book and explicitly reported in the Pre-delivery checklist.
Please read and review this bulletin first before starting the procedure.

TECHNICAL SERVICE OPERATIONS
Procedure

All images shown in this bulletin are for illustrative purposes only
1. Always check ModisCS+ to see if the vehicle is involved in this action and if it has not been

previously performed.

2. Switch the Ignition to the “ON” position.

3. Use the “power tilt/telescoping steering column/wheel switch” to operate the power

tilt/telescopic steering column in the following sequence below:
a. 3 UP activations

b. 3 DOWN activations

c. 3 SLIDE FORWARD activations

d. 3 SLIDE BACK activations

For each activation and each position, please check the following conditions:

An acoustic “click” must be audible.
▪
At the end of the action, the button must return to the base or resting position.
▪
The steering wheel movement must stop when releasing the button.
Switch the Ignition “OFF”.
5. If all the conditions are satisfied for all the activations, the check is OK, no further action is

needed, the procedure is complete.

6. If at least one of the conditions is not verified for one or more activations, the check is NOT

OK and the component must be replaced, following the procedure below (available in the

workshop manual):
